Managing Security Architect

We're looking for a Managing Security Architect to play a pivotal role in delivering security-by-design solutions across major Defence, Government and high-assurance programmes. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of cyber security, helping organisations tackle evolving threats while enabling innovation securely. Working as part of our Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, you'll lead security strategy for high-profile client engagements, influence senior stakeholders, and ensure security is embedded from day one, not bolted on later. You do need to be eligible for SC and DV Clearance for this role. Hybrid: Must be able to travel to South/South East when needed. What you'll be doing: As a trusted Security Architect, you'll work with architects, engineers, delivery teams and clients to design and implement secure solutions that stand up to today's threat landscape and tomorrow's challenges. Lead security architecture activities across large and complex client programmes. Shape secure-by-design solutions within Defence, Government and regulated environments. Assess solution architectures, identify risks and design effective security controls. Develop security strategies, roadmaps and architecture blueprints aligned to business goals. Provide expert guidance on cyber risk, governance and compliance requirements. Lead security contributions to bids, proposals and new business opportunities Influence senior stakeholders and customers, translating complex security concepts into clear business outcomes. Champion best practice across our Cyber Security Centre of Excellence. What you'll bring: You'll be an experienced Security Architect with a passion for designing secure, resilient systems and leading teams through complex security challenges. Proven experience leading security architecture engagements in Defence, Government or other high-security environments. Strong knowledge of security architecture frameworks such as SABSA. Expertise in industry standards and guidance including NCSC and NIST. Experience applying Secure by Design principles across enterprise programmes. A strong understanding of risk-based security decision making. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, from technical teams through to executive leadership. The ability to influence, mentor and lead security initiatives across multiple programmes. It would be great if you had: Cloud security architecture (Azure, AWS). NIST Cybersecurity Framework and SP 800-53 controls. Identity & Access Management. Infrastructure Security. Data Security. Security transformation and maturity improvement programmes.
