Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Mandarin or Cantonese Medical Interpreter. The interpreter will provide accurate and confidential language support between healthcare professionals and patients in Mandarin or Cantonese and English, ensuring clear understanding of medical information, procedures, and instructions. Daily tasks include performing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during medical appointments, consultations, and follow-up calls, as well as translating medical documents and patient information when needed. The role also involves adhering to professional and ethical standards, maintaining patient confidentiality, and using company-provided platforms and tools to manage assignments and documentation. Training in medical interpretation and use of company systems will be provided to support professional development and consistent service quality.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Medical Terminology to ensure accurate communication in clinical and healthcare settings.
• Proficiency in Interpreting and Simultaneous Interpretation for real-time conversations between patients and medical staff.
• Experience or demonstrated ability in Translation of medical documents and patient-related materials.
• Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese and English, with clear, professional communication skills in both languages.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in healthcare and language services.
• Comfort with remote work, including reliable internet access and basic proficiency with cloud-based platforms and communication tools.
• Prior experience in medical or healthcare environments is beneficial, as is any formal training or certification in medical interpreting.
• Strong listening skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to remain calm and focused in urgent or emotionally challenging situations.
