Our distribution center operations play a critical role in delivering products efficiently and accurately to our customers. We are seeking an experienced Manhattan SCALE 2016 WMS Software Developer to support, maintain, and enhance our warehouse management system and the technology that powers our distribution operations.
About the Opportunity
This is a hands-on software development position requiring direct, professional experience working with Manhattan SCALE 2016.
The ideal candidate combines advanced Microsoft SQL Server development skills with strong application programming experience and a practical understanding of warehouse operations, material handling equipment, and distribution center workflows.
We are looking for a developer who understands not only how to write and troubleshoot code, but also how that code impacts the physical movement of inventory throughout a warehouse.
This is not a database administration, reporting, or functional WMS analyst position. This role requires someone who can independently develop, modify, troubleshoot, and support software solutions within a Manhattan SCALE 2016 environment.
What You'll Do

-
Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance applications and functionality within Manhattan SCALE 2016.
-
Write, modify, test, and deploy code to support warehouse operations and business requirements.
-
Investigate application issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable technical solutions.
- Support existing customizations, system interfaces, and enhancements within the WMS environment.
- Collaborate with IT and distribution center leadership to identify opportunities for system improvements.
SQL Server & Software Development
-
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and other database objects.
-
Troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues and application-related database problems.
- Develop and maintain application logic, interfaces, and integrations using the programming languages and technologies supporting the WMS environment.
- Analyze application and database issues to improve system performance, reliability, and data integrity.
- Create technical documentation for application enhancements, integrations, and system changes.
Warehouse Operations & Equipment Integration
-
Understand the end-to-end distribution center workflow, including receiving, inventory management, replenishment, picking, packing, and shipping.
-
Support WMS integrations with warehouse equipment and technology, such as RF scanners, barcode systems, material handling equipment, and automated processes.
- Troubleshoot issues involving communication between the WMS, warehouse equipment, and other business applications.
- Work directly with warehouse operations teams to understand how system functionality impacts productivity, accuracy, and order fulfillment.
- Translate operational challenges into effective technical solutions.
System Integration & Continuous Improvement
-
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between Manhattan SCALE and other enterprise applications.
-
Participate in system enhancements, testing, implementation, and ongoing application support.
- Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, automate manual processes, and optimize warehouse workflows.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions align with business and operational needs.
