Start your software testing career with Script Assist

Script Assist is hiring four Manual QA Testers / Junior QA Engineers to help test software connecting clinics, pharmacies and patients across the UK.

Our platform supports tens of thousands of prescriptions every month. Behind each prescription are connected workflows: consultations, prescribing, stock availability, payments, dispensing, delivery updates and repeat requests. Those workflows need to work correctly for the people relying on them.

We’re looking for engineering graduates and junior candidates who notice inconsistencies, enjoy investigating problems and can explain their findings clearly. If you want to build a career in manual testing, software testing and quality assurance, this is an opportunity to work on a live product where careful testing matters.

What you’ll be testing

You’ll test connected clinic, pharmacy and patient applications, checking both individual features and complete user journeys.

Does a saved change appear correctly when the record is reopened? Does an order move through the right stages? Can each user access the right information? Does a new release fix the original problem without breaking a related workflow?

Your job will be to turn questions like these into organised tests, investigate unexpected behaviour and give developers clear evidence they can act on.

What you’ll do

• Functional testing: Check features, forms, validation rules, user permissions and complete workflows against their requirements.

• Test cases and scenarios: Turn requirements into practical tests covering normal use, boundary conditions, invalid inputs and exceptions.

• Exploratory testing: Investigate unfamiliar features, try different sequences of actions and identify problems that straightforward checks might miss.

• Regression, smoke and sanity testing: Check new builds and confirm that changes have not disrupted existing functionality.

• Bug reporting and defect tracking: Record clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, and supporting evidence.

• Retesting and release checks: Verify fixes, check related behaviour and communicate test results to the product and engineering team.

Who we’re looking for

• A completed B.E., B.Tech or equivalent engineering degree, in any engineering discipline.

• Strong attention to detail and logical reasoning.

• An organised approach to investigating problems and following requirements.

• The ability to distinguish what you have observed from what you are assuming.

• Clear written and spoken English, especially when explaining a problem.

• A current base in Gujarat and the ability to work in Ahmedabad when the role moves to a hybrid arrangement.

Freshers are welcome. Previous professional manual testing experience is not required. Relevant college projects, internships, testing courses or junior QA experience are useful, but your ability to think carefully and perform in the practical assessment matters.

You do not need programming or test automation experience to apply.

Why join Script Assist?

You’ll work on a live healthcare software platform with connected workflows and real operational complexity. Your findings will help improve the experience of clinic staff, pharmacy teams and patients.

You’ll develop practical experience across test design, exploratory testing, defect investigation, regression testing and release verification. As your product knowledge grows, you’ll be able to take ownership of more complex features and user journeys.

This is an opportunity to build the foundations of a software QA career through hands-on product work.

Location and working arrangement

The role is fully remote at present. We plan to introduce hybrid working in Ahmedabad, so applicants must be able to attend the Ahmedabad office when that arrangement begins.

How to apply

Apply through LinkedIn and complete the short screening questions. Suitable applicants will receive an online practical assessment covering observation, reasoning and manual testing tasks. The strongest candidates will then be invited to a remote interview.
