MARKET DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE, LATIN AMERICA
Molecular Point-of-Care Diagnostics
Company: PlusOne Bio
Region: Latin America
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel: Regular travel within Latin America
ABOUT PLUSONE BIO
PlusOne Bio is a U.S. subsidiary of Pluslife, focused on developing and commercializing molecular diagnostic opportunities. We combine the molecular diagnostics technology and capabilities of our parent company with an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and building new markets.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for an entrepreneurial and highly adaptable Market Development Associate to help build new opportunities for molecular point-of-care diagnostics across Latin America.
This is not a traditional sales role where you inherit a fixed territory, established customer list, and mature playbook. You'll explore where molecular POC technology can create meaningful value across different countries, applications, customer segments, and human or animal health settings. You'll validate opportunities directly with customers, KOLs, and commercial partners and help turn the strongest ones into real business.
If you enjoy building from 0 to 1, learning new markets quickly, getting close to customers, and figuring things out when the answer isn't obvious, this could be a strong fit.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Explore new markets and applications for molecular POC diagnostics and develop testable commercial hypotheses.
- Talk directly with customers, clinicians, veterinarians, laboratories, KOLs, universities, and other stakeholders to validate opportunities.
- Identify target accounts and decision-makers, understand current diagnostic workflows and unmet needs, and develop qualified opportunities.
- Build KOL, validation, and commercial partner relationships and help move promising opportunities from evaluation toward adoption.
- Work with distributors and other partners while maintaining direct visibility into end-customer needs and market activity.
- Capture customer feedback, competitor activity, pricing insights, adoption barriers, and emerging opportunities.
- Maintain disciplined CRM, follow-up, and opportunity management and communicate clearly what is working, what isn't, and what should happen next.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You'll likely thrive here if you:
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy building rather than simply executing an established process.
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Take ownership without waiting for detailed instructions.
- Are resourceful and naturally ask, “How can I figure this out?”
- Move easily between research, customer conversations, problem solving, and execution.
- Learn scientific and technical concepts quickly.
- Build relationships naturally and communicate credibly with different stakeholders.
- Stay persistent through rejection and dead ends and adjust quickly when evidence changes.
- Combine flexibility and speed with strong organization and follow-through.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Required:
- Professional fluency in Portuguese.
- Strong working proficiency in English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence engaging customers and external stakeholders.
- High ownership and strong follow-through.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Latin America.
Great to have:
- Spanish proficiency.
- Experience or education in molecular diagnostics, IVD, point-of-care diagnostics, biotechnology, medical devices, life sciences, healthcare, or animal health.
- Experience in market development, business development, customer development, commercialization, or field sales.
- Experience working with KOLs, laboratories, healthcare institutions, universities, distributors, or commercial partners.
You do not need to be a molecular diagnostics expert on Day 1. What matters is your ability to learn quickly, get close to customers, ask good questions, take ownership, and turn what you learn into action.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success isn't simply the number of emails sent or meetings held. You'll help turn technology into market opportunities, customer evidence, local validation, qualified opportunities, adoption, usage, and sustainable commercial growth.
WHY JOIN US
This is an opportunity to help build markets rather than simply inherit one. You'll work across molecular diagnostics, customer discovery, KOL development, market validation, partnerships, and commercialization, with exposure to different applications and countries as the business develops.
If you want to explore, learn, build, adapt, and take increasing ownership as new markets develop, we'd like to hear from you.
