Position Summary:

The Market Development Manager (MDM) is the field marketing leader for an assigned Region and the go-to market expert for the Regional Director (RD), Clinical Account Managers (CAMs), and hospital partner sites. Working in close partnership with the RD and CAMs, the MDM advances regional and account strategy to drive utilization of MR-guided Focused Ultrasound programs by building the referral network, strengthening the patient care pathway, and raising community awareness.

The MDM pulls through Americas marketing initiatives, helps hospital marketing leads promote their programs locally, and is the primary marketing partner to each site’s patient navigator. This consultative, relationship-driven role turns complex technology into messages that resonate with physicians, field partners, and patients.

Preferred Based Location: West- San Francisco, San Diego, LA, Denver (Field Role)

What you will be doing:

Regional Marketing Leadership & Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as the key marketing resource and Region Marketing Liaison for the RD, CAMs, and Americas Marketing.
  • Partner with the RD and CAMs to shape regional and account strategy, with account plans that define targets, activities, and timelines, and align program goals and referral priorities with hospital leaders and marketing leads.
  • Pull through national marketing initiatives, adapt them to local needs, and provide marketing updates on Region calls.

Referral Network & Patient Care Pathway

  • Be an integral part of the referral engine: build and deepen referral pathways with neurologists, movement disorder specialists, primary care physicians, and other referral sources to drive earlier patient identification.
  • Serve as the key relationship with each site’s patient navigator and lead the handoff of inquiries from Insightec (PES) to the account patient navigator.
  • Help resolve bottlenecks between referral and treatment (scheduling, authorization, navigation) with hospital program teams, the RD, and CAMs.

Patient & Provider Education Programs

  • Lead Patient Therapy Awareness Events (webinars) and HCP Therapy Awareness Programs, including planning, promotion, moderation, and follow-up.
  • Lead Therapy Access Program (TAP) activities and drive peer-to-peer dinners in the Region with the RD and CAMs, in compliance with Insightec policies and healthcare compliance requirements.

Site Marketing, Co-Marketing & Community Awareness

  • Deploy Marketing Kits for the Region: bring account input on needed collateral to help shape and update the toolkit (direction set by the Director of Marketing, Americas) and deploy it at sites.
  • Create site-level resources, including unbranded collateral development.
  • Co-market with hospital marketing leads to promote programs in their communities, and drive community awareness at regional events such as Pickleball tournaments, conferences, and seminars.
  • Partner with Marketing Communications on digital strategies (webinars, social, UX, SEO, blogging) and maintain a communications plan with hospitals, Capital and Clinical Reps, and partners.
  • Partner with hospital clinical, informatics, and marketing teams on compliant, hospital-led use of the EHR and patient portal (e.g., clinical decision support alerts, registries, MyChart) to surface potential candidates, routing all activity through hospital privacy and compliance review.

Performance Tracking

  • Track and report referral funnel and program metrics (referral volume by source, conversion, time to treatment, event results) and keep CRM records current (e.g., HubSpot).

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, marketing, healthcare administration, life sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in healthcare, medical device, or related field marketing, market development, business development, or marketing; 2 years of sales experience preferred.
  • Proven success building referral relationships with physicians or other providers and executing events and programs in the field.
  • Working knowledge of hospital operations and how hospitals build clinical service lines.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and healthcare compliance, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, as it applies to outreach, speaker programs and dinners, and referral source engagement.
  • Ability to travel 30%-40%, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Canva (or similar), HubSpot (or similar), Zoom, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hospital EHRs (e.g., Epic, Oracle Health, MEDITECH) and using alerts, registries, or patient portal campaigns to identify procedure candidates.
  • Experience in neuroscience or another procedural service line.
  • Experience launching or growing a new technology or service line within hospital accounts.

Key Competencies:

  • Strategic partner to RDs and CAMs, able to influence regional strategy and objectives.
  • Consultative, creative approach to traditional and non-traditional marketing, translating complex concepts for healthcare professionals, executives, hospital marketing partners, and patients.
  • Strong project management and indirect leadership across cross-functional teams, with an analytical mindset that uses funnel data to prioritize accounts and activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including moderating live events, in a fast-paced environment.
