Marketing & Design Assistant Location: Fully Remote — South Africa Working Hours: UK business hours Experience Level: Mid-level, generalist marketing/design background About the Role We're recruiting on behalf of a marketing agency for a Marketing & Design Assistant to take over a varied, multi-skilled role spanning website design, email marketing, cold email copywriting, GoHighLevel CRM management, and general design/marketing support across multiple client accounts. This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone comfortable switching between website builds, email campaigns, copywriting and CRM workflows — rather than a specialist in just one area. Key Responsibilities Google Business Profile Posts Create and design Google Business Profile posts for client accounts based on keywords/topics supplied by the Account Manager. Adapt content and templates to suit each client's business and branding. Make amendments to posts or designs as requested. Website Design & Updates Design new websites and pages, and update existing ones, primarily using WordPress and Elementor/Elementor Pro. Update images, text, buttons, sections and other page elements. Ensure sites are visually consistent with client branding and fully responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile. Turn existing designs or briefs into finished, professional pages. Some experience with website builders outside WordPress/Elementor (e.g. Wix) is preferred. Email Marketing (Client Account Management) Manage end-to-end email marketing for an e-commerce client, including: Campaigns: creating newsletters, promotions and product-focused emails; planning send times; reviewing performance. Automations: building and improving automated sequences (e.g. abandoned basket flows) triggered by customer behaviour. Forms/List Growth: managing website sign-up forms/pop-ups and monitoring conversion rates. Focus on increasing email-driven revenue, maintaining list health, and improving results based on performance data. Cold Email / Outbound Copywriting Write and improve cold email copy and subject lines to increase positive reply rates (not send volume). Review existing sequences, develop new messaging approaches, and plan A/B tests. Hand over finished copy, sequence structure and testing plans to the team member responsible for implementation; not responsible for building or amending live campaigns directly. GoHighLevel (GHL) – CRM & Workflows Set up and manage workflows/automations within client GHL sub-accounts. Upload and organise leads/contacts, ensuring they enter the correct campaigns. Amend existing workflows and troubleshoot smaller issues as needed. SEO Reporting Review and correct SEO reports generated via the agency's reporting system, investigating and fixing errors before reports are sent to clients. General Design & Marketing Support Handle ad-hoc design and marketing tasks — graphics, templates, marketing materials, small website amendments — across various client accounts. Manage a varied daily workload, prioritise effectively, and ask questions when briefs are unclear. What We're Looking For Essential Experience with WordPress and Elementor/Elementor Pro. Website design skills, including responsive design. Basic graphic design ability and experience creating templates. Email marketing experience — campaigns, automations and list/form management. Marketing and cold email copywriting skills. Understanding of email performance metrics. Comfortable managing multiple clients and tasks simultaneously. Able to work from briefs/instructions and flag questions proactively. Advantageous Experience with Wix or other website builders. Google Business Profile / SEO-focused content experience. GoHighLevel or comparable CRM/workflow automation experience. Familiarity with SEO reporting tools. Remote Work Requirements Applicants must: Be based in South Africa. Have a reliable laptop or PC.
