Marketing Automation Specialist

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Marketing Automation Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution, deployment, and optimization of email and SMS marketing campaigns. The role supports the delivery of customer lifecycle programs while identifying opportunities to improve automation capabilities, processes, and scalability within Marketing Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own day-to-day campaign execution, including the building, testing, and deployment of communications across email, SMS, and other emerging marketing channels.
  • Manage and prioritize a queue of campaign and project requests, follow up on pending project requirements, and communicate timelines and key updates with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Implement personalization, dynamic content, and campaign logic to deliver relevant messaging and experiences.
  • Configure and apply tracking codes to measure channel performance and campaign effectiveness.
  • Execute and monitor A/B and multivariate tests to optimize messaging, targeting, creative, and customer journeys.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and provide actionable recommendations to improve engagement, conversion, and retention metrics.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing of campaigns, automation workflows, audience selections, and personalization logic prior to deployment; identify and escalate technical issues to appropriate stakeholders for resolution.
  • Present insights on campaign effectiveness, business impact, and opportunities for continuous improvement to key stakeholders.
  • Support automated marketing campaigns, customer journeys, and triggered communications across marketing automation platforms.
  • Contribute to the testing and adoption of new tools, features, and technologies that enhance marketing automation capabilities and operational effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve campaign processes, workflows, automation, and operational efficiencies.
  • Monitor and manage direct responses from outbound communications, perform member outreach, and distribute pertinent issues to business stakeholders.
  • Participate in strategic marketing meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with email, privacy, consent, and data governance standards.
  • Stay current on channel capabilities, marketing automation technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform effective marketing strategies and execution.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in email marketing, marketing automation, or a related marketing operations function.
  • Experience managing email marketing campaigns, including building, testing, deployment, and optimization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or comparable marketing automation platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with email design and production tools, such as Knak, Litmus, Stensul, or comparable platforms.
  • Understanding of SMS marketing, including campaign execution, best practices, and related technologies.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Data 360, or similar customer relationship management (CRM) and customer data platform (CDP) tools.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • None required.
  • Industry-recognized certifications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, marketing automation, or related marketing technologies are a plus.

  • Effective communicator with strong writing, speaking, and active listening skills.
  • Organized and adaptable, with strong time management and ability to handle shifting priorities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive and curious, with a strong interest in exploring new tools and technologies, experimenting with new approaches, and continuously improving processes and capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to leverage insights to optimize campaigns across marketing channels.
  • Advanced knowledge of A/B testing principles and performance optimization strategies.
  • Knowledge of audience segmentation, list management, suppression, and targeting practices.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while driving tasks and initiatives forward with limited oversight.
  • Proven ability to build rapport, earn trust, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled at identifying errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Knowledge of channel marketing, marketing automation technologies, emerging trends, and industry best practices.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to align stakeholders and execute against project objectives.
  • Understanding of AI concepts, techniques, and emerging applications to improve marketing operations and efficiency.

SALARY:

  • Hiring Range: $32.86 - $39.42 per hour and is based on candidate experience
  • Bonus based on company performance

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Hybrid work from home and office required

The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
