We're seeking an experienced Marketing Director, Partner Solutions to lead marketing strategy and execution across its Partner Solutions business, which manages data, technology, and ecosystem partnerships with societies and publishers.
The role will focus on accelerating the maturity of company Account-Based Marketing (ABM) approach, developing integrated marketing programmes, and aligning marketing activity with commercial growth objectives. The successful candidate will lead a team of marketing professionals, oversee campaigns and major industry events, and strengthen engagement with strategic partners, societies, publishers, and prospective accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Account-Based Marketing and Strategic Account Management
- Lead the development and scaling of ABM programmes across Partner Solutions' priority accounts.
- Evaluate existing ABM strategies, identifying strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design and refine strategic account management frameworks, including account segmentation, tiering criteria, governance cadence, and senior stakeholder coverage.
- Establish clear criteria for prioritising accounts based on commercial potential, strategic importance, and relationship opportunities.
- Develop account plans, executive sponsorship strategies, and personalised engagement programmes.
- Assess and recommend appropriate ABM technologies, account intelligence platforms, CRM solutions, and analytics tools.
- Create scalable frameworks and best practices that can be adopted across Partner Solutions and potentially the wider enterprise.
Marketing Strategy and Commercial Growth
- Lead the development and execution of the Partner Solutions marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and commercial priorities.
- Partner with senior leadership, sales, and customer success teams to align marketing programmes with account strategies and business growth goals.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement, retention, and growth across strategic partners, societies, publishers, and prospects.
- Advise leadership on marketing investment priorities, resource allocation, and opportunities to maximise commercial impact.
- Ensure marketing activity supports measurable outcomes, including account growth, pipeline influence, and partner engagement.
Integrated Marketing Campaigns and Events
- Oversee integrated marketing programmes supporting priority-account ABM initiatives.
- Lead the planning and delivery of campaigns, content marketing, demand generation activities, major industry events, and executive engagement programmes.
- Ensure campaigns are personalised, coordinated across channels, and aligned with account-specific objectives.
- Establish clear KPIs and measurement frameworks to assess campaign effectiveness and commercial contribution.
- Monitor performance and use customer insights, market intelligence, and campaign analytics to optimise marketing investment.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of marketing professionals.
- Build team capabilities through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of repeatable marketing best practices.
- Establish scalable processes, clear ways of working, and effective collaboration across marketing and commercial functions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision-making.
- Maintain continuity of marketing delivery throughout the contract period while supporting planning for the next strategic cycle.
Stakeholder Management and Continuous Improvement
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across marketing, sales, customer success, and Partner Solutions leadership.
- Influence cross-functional teams and align stakeholders who do not report directly into marketing.
- Use account, customer, market, and campaign insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop a clear assessment of the current ABM programme and strategic account management framework.
- Deliver actionable recommendations and a roadmap for future improvements before the end of the contract.
Essential Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience developing and executing Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies in a B2B environment.
- Proven experience designing and operating a formal strategic or key account management function, including account-tiering criteria, governance structures, senior stakeholder coverage, and operating models.
- Significant experience leading B2B marketing strategy, integrated programmes, and marketing teams.
- Strong experience managing integrated campaigns, demand generation, content programmes, and events that contribute to commercial growth.
- Experience partnering with senior commercial leaders, sales teams, and customer success functions to drive account development and business outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience defining KPIs, measuring marketing performance, and using insights to optimise investment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and organisational skills.
- Experience coaching and developing marketing teams and implementing scalable processes and best practices.
Nice to have:
- Experience working with complex, multi-stakeholder institutional accounts, such as societies, associations, universities, healthcare organisations, or government bodies.
- Background in publishing, technology, SaaS, platform businesses, or professional services.
- Experience aligning marketing initiatives with enterprise-wide strategic priorities.
- Proven success improving marketing team capability, operating models, and delivery processes.
- Familiarity with ABM platforms such as Demandbase, CRM technologies, account intelligence tools, and funnel attribution analytics.
