Working within Haymarket (Live Events)
Haymarket Business Media's Live Events team delivers a diverse portfolio of market-leading awards, conferences and industry events across Haymarket Media Communications and Haymarket Professional brands. Bringing together professional communities through high-quality live experiences, the team plays an important role in strengthening audience engagement, supporting commercial growth and enhancing the reputation of Haymarket's brands.
Working as part of the wider marketing function, the Marketing Manager takes ownership of the marketing strategy and delivery for an assigned portfolio of live events, developing integrated campaigns that drive audience engagement, delegate registrations, award entries and commercial performance across brands including Campaign, PR Week, Third Sector, Windpower and Planning. The role works closely with Senior Marketing Managers and cross-functional teams, including Events, Commercial, Editorial, Design and Data, to deliver effective marketing strategies and campaigns that contribute to the growth and success of Haymarket's live events portfolio.
The Role
- The Marketing Manager will take ownership of the marketing strategy and delivery across an assigned portfolio of live events, working with the Senior Marketing Manager to ensure activity supports audience, brand and commercial objectives.
- This is a hands-on role with responsibility for planning, delivering and optimising integrated marketing campaigns, balancing strategic oversight with effective campaign execution.
- The role will work closely with Commercial teams to support delegate acquisition, sponsorship and partnership opportunities, ensuring marketing activity contributes to agreed commercial objectives.
- The Marketing Manager will provide guidance and support to Marketing Executives and Senior Marketing Executives, helping to develop capability and maintain high standards of marketing delivery.
- As with all event-focused roles, occasional evening attendance will be required to support the delivery of live events.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver integrated marketing strategies across an assigned portfolio of conferences, awards and forums, aligned to audience, brand and commercial objectives.
- Plan and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns across email, social media, websites, digital advertising, partnerships and other relevant channels.
- Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to establish campaign objectives, priorities and plans for the assigned events portfolio.
- Take ownership of campaign performance, using audience data, reporting and insight to identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.
- Work closely with Commercial teams to support delegate acquisition, sponsorship and partnership opportunities, ensuring marketing activity aligns with revenue objectives.
- Manage event marketing budgets and expenditure, ensuring activity is delivered effectively and within agreed financial parameters.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of engaging marketing content across email, social media, websites, digital advertising and other promotional channels.
- Ensure customer marketing databases are effectively maintained and used to support audience segmentation, targeting and campaign performance.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of event websites and landing pages, ensuring content is accurate, engaging and optimised for conversion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Editorial, Events, Design, Data, Production and Brand teams.
- Manage relationships with relevant external agencies, suppliers and partners, ensuring activity is delivered effectively and to agreed standards.
- Coordinate campaign timelines, priorities and deliverables across multiple events, ensuring key activity is delivered on time.
- Monitor industry, audience and marketing trends and bring forward new ideas and approaches to improve campaign performance and audience engagement.
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to Marketing Executives and Senior Marketing Executives, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Support the Senior Marketing Manager in delivering wider departmental objectives and KPIs.
- Attend and support live events as required, including occasional evening attendance.
Key Relationships
Builds strong and effective working relationships with the Senior Marketing Manager, wider Live Events Marketing team and cross-functional stakeholders, including Commercial, Editorial, Events, Design, Data, Production and Brand teams.
Works collaboratively with external agencies, suppliers and partners to support the successful delivery of marketing campaigns and live events.

- Strong knowledge of marketing principles and integrated campaign delivery.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including email, social media and digital advertising.
- Good understanding of audience segmentation, customer data and campaign performance analysis.
- Understanding of event marketing and the B2B media, publishing or events environment.
- Good understanding of content management systems, websites and digital marketing platforms.
- Understanding of GDPR and responsible use of customer marketing data.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how marketing activity contributes to audience and revenue objectives.

- A strong track record in marketing, ideally within events, B2B media, publishing or a related environment.
- Proven ability to plan and deliver integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Experience taking ownership of marketing activity across multiple projects, events or brands.
- Confident using campaign data and reporting to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Experience working closely with Commercial or Sales teams to support audience acquisition and commercial objectives.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and campaign expenditure.
- A track record of working collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholders and external agencies or suppliers.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or developing more junior members of a marketing team.
