Marketing Operations Manager
Drive analytics backed marketing decisions
You understand what works and what doesn't, what makes a campaign fly and why a campaign fails. You "get" the mechanics, metrics and analytics of marketing. Are you ready to own and lead Marketing Operations across a growing market beating SaaS solutions provider?
We are Preservica, a global leader in Active Digital Preservation, trusted by organizations to preserve their most important digital records for decades to come. From national archives and government agencies to universities and global enterprises, our customers rely on us to ensure critical information remains accessible, compliant, and defensible.
Right now we're looking for a Marketing Operations Manager to build a modern, AI-powered marketing operations function from the ground up. Reporting to the VP Demand Marketing, this is a rare kind of opening: pipeline generation is our top priority as we launch a brand new digital strategy, which means marketing ops has real visibility and real budget to build something ambitious, not just keep the lights on.
About the role
Today, our attribution and reporting can tell you a lead came in. It can't yet show you how a cohort of MQLs actually moves through the funnel to closed revenue, and that's exactly the gap you'd own. You'll design the cohort-based reporting, the attribution model, and the AI-powered analytics practice that the board relies on to understand whether pipeline is actually working, essentially building the function you'd want to inherit, except you get to build it yourself.
You'll administer Pardot and Salesforce end to end and be the person leadership comes to when they want a real answer on what's driving pipeline. You'll also get to put Claude to work at the execution layer: turning demand gen's persona and industry targeting into shipped messaging and campaign assets at a speed manual production can't match, and finding every place in the ops stack where AI can replace repetitive work with something faster and better. If you're the kind of person who sees a basic dashboard and immediately wants to know what a great one would look like, this is that job.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting on funnel performance, pipeline coverage, and channel/program ROI for leadership review
- Build and maintain attribution infrastructure (UTM frameworks, campaign-to-revenue reporting via Salesforce Campaign Influence) that holds up under scrutiny from Sales and leadership
- Push our attribution and reporting practice from basic, backward-looking numbers toward an AI-powered practice: automated anomaly detection on funnel metrics, AI-assisted narrative summaries for business reviews, and faster answers to ad hoc board and leadership questions
- Own Pardot (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement) administration end to end: automation rules, lead scoring and grading, Engagement Studio programs, list segmentation, and data hygiene
- Maintain clean, synchronized data between Pardot and Salesforce, including lead routing, lifecycle-stage integrity, and deduplication
- Build cohort-based MQL reporting that shows how each month's (or campaign's) MQLs convert stage by stage down the funnel to pipeline and closed revenue, built for board-level review, not just an internal team dashboard
- Use Claude to produce persona- and industry-specific messaging variants and campaign assets (email sequences, landing page copy, ad copy) at volume, to specs set by demand gen and content, not as an independent campaign owner
- Identify where AI should replace manual, repetitive ops work (enrichment, routing, QA, reporting prep) and build those workflows, proactively, not just when asked
- Partner with demand gen, sales, and RevOps to diagnose funnel leaks using data, and instrument fixes rather than just report on symptoms
- Document systems, workflows, and runbooks so the stack doesn't live only in your head
- Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CCPA across all automated and AI-assisted communications
What you'll bring:
- 5 years in marketing operations, RevOps, or a similar systems/analytics role at a B2B SaaS or B2B company
- Hands-on Pardot / Marketing Cloud Account Engagement administration experience: automation rules, scoring, Engagement Studio, segmentation
- Salesforce experience: campaign management, lead routing, Campaign Influence or equivalent attribution reporting
- Demonstrated experience building multi-touch attribution models and reporting that leadership actually relies on, not just platform-native reports
- Real, demonstrable use of Claude (or a comparable LLM) to produce messaging or content variants at scale, able to walk through actual prompts and workflows, not just "I've used ChatGPT"
- Working SQL for ad hoc analysis and troubleshooting
- Strong grasp of B2B funnel metrics, cohort analysis, and lead scoring methodology, and the ability to build and explain stage-to-stage conversion reporting to an executive or board audience
- A track record of pushing past "the dashboard works" to "the dashboard is wrong, here's why, and here's what I rebuilt", this role is for someone who gets restless with basic reporting, not someone who's comfortable maintaining it indefinitely
- Comfort being the ops and analytics backbone across Marketing, Sales, and Leadership, and the initiative to identify gaps and fix them before leadership has to ask
Nice to have:
- Prior experience building AI-assisted content or reporting workflows beyond single-prompt use
- Experience with enrichment or intent tools (ZoomInfo, Clearbit, 6sense, or similar) feeding segmentation logic
- BI/dashboard tool experience (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) beyond native Salesforce/Pardot reporting
Tech stack:
Pardot (Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement), Salesforce, Claude, plus whatever enrichment, intent, or BI tooling you recommend (within budgetary constraints).
