TAX ADVISOR — CROSS-BORDER PERSONAL TAXATION (Advisory role)

Avuru Finance — Luxembourg (Remote, occasional meetings in Luxembourg)

Contract: Advisory agreement, equity-based

Time commitment: 2 to 3 hours per month

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Luxembourg has 230,000 cross-border workers and a resident population that is almost half foreign. Their money lives across borders: accounts in multiple currencies, income taxed under two separate tax regimes, and no single tool to view their real financial position.

Avuru Finance is the app built for them: one place to view, understand and act on cross-border finances across Luxembourg, France, Belgium and Germany. The product is live, built on 15 years of banking software expertise, and was named a finalist at Fit 4 Start #17, Luxembourg's flagship accelerator, in October 2026.

We are incorporating in Luxembourg now and onboarding our first paying customers.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Avuru's users ask one question above all: "what does this mean for my taxes?" We are looking for a tax practitioner who answers that question for real clients every year, and who will keep Avuru's tax guidance right, current and defensible as we grow across four jurisdictions.

This is not a full-time role and not a consulting mission. It is an advisory seat: a few hours a month, a stake in the company, and your name behind the tax content thousands of frontaliers and expats will rely on.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review Avuru's tax calculators, guidance texts and in-app explanations before release, for Luxembourg and the French, Belgian and German cross-border regimes.

- Flag legislative and administrative changes that affect frontaliers and expats (thresholds, telework days, treaty updates, filing rules) and tell us what to change.

- Help us keep the line between information and advice clear, so the product stays on the right side of it.

- One introduction per quarter: a peer, a professional association or a client community.

- Lend your name and a quote to Avuru's tax content, if and when you are comfortable doing so.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

- You advise individuals on cross-border taxation involving Luxembourg: tax lawyer (Avocat), chartered accountant, fiduciaire, or expatriate tax specialist.

- 5+ years of relevant experience. A client base of frontaliers or expats is what matters most.

- Strong working knowledge of the Luxembourg–France, Luxembourg–Belgium and Luxembourg–Germany tax treaties as they apply to employees and households.

- Professional fluency in French and English; German is an asset.

- Pragmatic, precise, and interested in seeing your expertise reach thousands of people through software rather than one client at a time.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Advisory equity with 2-year vesting, under a simple one-page agreement.

- Visibility as the tax voice behind a Luxembourg fintech built for cross-border workers.

- First look at a product your clients will ask you about, and a direct line to shape it.

- Paid engagements for defined pieces of work once revenue allows.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Send an email to contact@avurufinance.com with:

1. Your LinkedIn profile link.

2. Two lines on your cross-border client base (which countries, what kind of clients).

3. One tax question your clients ask you every year that software should answer better.

  • Next step: one 30-minute conversation.
