About the role

As a Master Data Specialist in Sassenheim, you make sure our manufacturing master data is accurate, up to date and ready for production. You work in the heart of our Integrated Supply Chain organisation, where clean master data in SAP (and OMP) keeps planning, scheduling and execution running smoothly. When new products are introduced, formulas change, or production setups need adjustment, you’re the person who translates those changes into the systems behind the scenes. Your work directly impacts whether the plant can proceed - getting it right means production can move forward safely and on time. You’ll collaborate closely with schedulers, production planners, product management and R&D, and you’ll be a trusted point of contact for master data governance and system hygiene. If you enjoy precision, ownership and improving the way things work, this role gives you real influence every day.

Key responsibilities

    • Create, change and maintain manufacturing master data in SAP (e.g., Bills of Material, Master Recipes, Production Versions) to enable reliable production execution.
    • Drive high data quality by monitoring master data consistency and resolving issues that could block planning or production.
    • Collaborate with R&D, schedulers and supply chain planners to translate product and process changes into correct system setup.
    • Support schedulers and production planners to set parameters correctly and improve the quality of planning and execution.
    • Train planners and schedulers on production data governance, including processes for creating, changing and deleting master data.
    • Coach teams on system hygiene (e.g., timely closing process orders, clearing open reservations, resolving failed goods movements).
    • Participate in NPI project teams to set up master data according to standards for product introductions, phase-outs and relocations.
    • Prepare proposals for improvements in material setup and implement changes with production and material planning stakeholders.
    • Maintain OMP-relevant data and act as a SAP/OMP process coach for Scheduling and Production Planning teams.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement by translating planning concepts and improvement initiatives into master data configuration across relevant systems, and following up workflows

What you bring

    • Vocational level (MBO) with several years of experience in a similar master data / manufacturing planning environment.
    • Hands-on experience with SAP and manufacturing master data (e.g., BOMs, recipes, production versions).
    • Confidence working independently and accurately in a role that is largely system- and computer-based.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across functions (planners, schedulers, R&D and Product management).
    • A structured, process-focused way of working, with attention to detail
    • Problem-solving skills and a mindset of “thinking in possibilities” when priorities shift or new products are introduced.
    • Persistence and a collaborative, team-oriented approach — clear in what you need and reliable in follow-through.
    • Fluent English language skills, Dutch language skills are preferred.

Our benefits

    • Competitive salary
    • 44 holidays
    • 8% vacation allowance
    • Participation in the AkzoNobel pension plan
    • Travel expenses to and from work
    • Hybrid work option (3 days office, 2 days home office, per week)
    • Training opportunities that will help you grow beyond this position
    • Paint with a discount
