Position Overview

Autodesk Maya is one of the leading software packages used for content creation by some of the biggest names in VFX, TV, and Games. On the Autodesk Consulting Media and Entertainment Team, we have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional software developer and subject matter expert to join our growing team, directly supporting our customers in the amazing work they do. As a key member of our team, you will be collaborating directly with our global customers as they develop their tools and workflows around Maya, providing advice and guidance from both a technical and a production perspective. You will be responsible for advising them, diagnosing issues, finding solutions, and developing fixes and enhancements in the product that help them to be successful.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with top studios using Maya to understand their existing pipelines and requirements, to build solutions, improve efficiency or functionality of those pipelines

  • Work with other developers, user experience designers, QAs, and product owners to identify, troubleshoot, design, and develop product fixes and enhancements

  • Develop high quality code, write functional tests, and collaborate on technical designs

  • Be a member of a fun, collaborative, high-performing team and contribute directly to the success of the Autodesk Consulting M&E Team and our customers

  • Occasional travel to customer sites and Autodesk offices may be required

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years software engineering and/or production experience, ideally developing tools and workflows using the Maya C++ or Python APIs utilizing computer graphics algorithms and techniques

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Game and/or Film Production Pipelines

  • Experience and strong coding proficiency with C++ and Python.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, ability to work well in a cross-functional, high-performing team, and communicate highly technical information to customers

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills

  • Exceptional organizational skills. Comfortable working independently to tackle challenges in a remote working environment.

  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks as well as working with Codex or other similar tools to aid in coding.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using or developing within other key Autodesk products. For example: Arnold, 3dsMax, MotionBuilder, Flow Production Tracking, Flow Capture, RV, etc

  • Familiarity with C# or game engines (Unreal or Unity)

Responsabilités

  • Collaborer avec les meilleurs studios utilisant Maya pour comprendre leurs pipelines existants et leurs besoins, afin de mettre au point des solutions, d’améliorer l’efficacité ou les fonctionnalités de ces pipelines

  • Travailler avec d’autres développeurs, concepteurs d’expérience utilisateur, responsables de l’assurance qualité et chefs de produit pour identifier, résoudre, concevoir et développer des correctifs et des améliorations du produit

  • Développer du code de haute qualité, rédiger des tests fonctionnels et collaborer à la conception technique

  • Faire partie d’une équipe conviviale, collaborative et hautement performante, et contribuer directement au succès de l’équipe Autodesk Consulting M&E et de nos clients

  • Des déplacements occasionnels sur les sites des clients et dans les bureaux d’Autodesk peuvent être nécessaires

Qualifications Minimales

  • Au moins 5 ans d’expérience en génie logiciel et/ou en production, idéalement dans le développement d’outils et de workflows à l’aide des API Maya C++ ou Python, en utilisant des algorithmes et des techniques d’infographie

  • Connaissance avérée des pipelines de production de jeux vidéo et/ou de films

  • Expérience et solide maîtrise du codage en C++ et Python.

  • Solides compétences interpersonnelles et en résolution de problèmes, capacité à bien travailler au sein d’une équipe pluridisciplinaire et performante, et à communiquer des informations hautement techniques aux clients

  • Solides compétences en dépannage technique

  • Excellentes compétences organisationnelles. A l’aise pour travailler de manière autonome afin de relever des défis dans un environnement de travail à distance.

  • Expérience avec les frameworks d’IA/ML ainsi qu’avec l’utilisation de Codex ou d’autres outils similaires pour faciliter le codage.

  • Maîtrise de l’anglais à l’oral et à l’écrit.

Qualifications Souhaitées

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $139,000 and $249,260. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,000 and $191,400. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
