Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will design, develop, and integrate mechanical components and assemblies for complex hardware systems. This role involves creating 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo, applying GD&T, and developing designs optimized for various manufacturing processes. The engineer will also support hardware through build, test, and production by troubleshooting mechanical issues, implementing engineering changes, and performing root cause and corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate mechanical components and assemblies for complex hardware systems.
• Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Creo software.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for precise engineering specifications.
• Optimize designs for various manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal forming, and welding.
• Support hardware through build, test, and production phases.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement engineering changes.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical design engineering expertise.
• Proficiency in GD&T and mechanical hardware development.
• Experience with Creo Parametric / Pro-E for 3D part and assembly modeling.
• Ability to create and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Windchill / Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
• Understanding of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Familiarity with configuration management and CCB processes.

Work Environment

The work environment involves utilizing advanced CAD software and PLM systems to develop and manage mechanical designs. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and successful integration into hardware systems. The engineer will work in a dynamic setting that emphasizes innovation and precision in mechanical design engineering.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeton, MO.

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
