Show job description

We're exclusively recruiting for a Mechanical/ Manufacturing Design Engineer to join a complex aerospace start up working on advanced manufacturing projects.

This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys understanding how things work, from designing physical new products through to figuring out how they're manufactured. We're interested in people with backgrounds in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, aerospace or product development, particularly those with experience in CAD/CAM, manufacturing drawings and machining.

We're open to junior, mid-level and senior candidates, and are more interested in your technical capability and experience than a particular job title.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Contribute across the product lifecycle, from design and prototyping through to manufacturing and production.
  • Work with CAD/CAM, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes to develop and build physical products.
  • Apply coding, scripting or software skills to technical challenges and engineering workflows.
  • Explore ways to improve how products are designed, developed and manufactured.
  • Work across engineering, design and manufacturing, with the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of technical challenges.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, aerospace, product design or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM, manufacturing drawings and the practical considerations involved in building physical products.
  • Some coding, programming or software experience, or a strong technical aptitude in this area.
  • An interest in understanding how things are designed, built and improved.

Experience with CNC machining, G-code, manufacturing automation or supply chain processes would also be valuable.

The Opportunity

You'll join an early-stage aerospace business where you can contribute across disciplines, get close to the product and take on a broad range of technical challenges. We're keen to speak with people from different engineering backgrounds who enjoy building things, solving problems and working beyond the boundaries of a traditional engineering role.

You must be in Sydney with unrestricted work rights to apply. This is a hybrid role (very flexible). Please apply with your latest resume and we will be in touch.
