As a Mechanical design engineer you will contribute to the development of coherent pluggable modules to further enrich Optical Networks portfolio https://www.nokia.com/optical-networks/. You will take responsibility for the design of mechanical assemblies shaping the module physical form, from design through fabrication, testing and mechanical validation. As a member of our pluggable design team, you’ll be working alongside other experienced and multidisciplinary teams with strong records of delivering innovative products contributing in the supply chain for the increasing AI deployments worldwide and telco providers.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the overall physical design of the pluggable modules and will interface with HW Designers, Optical Engineers, Thermal Simulation Engineers and manufacturers to ensure: form factor compliance, thermal dissipation requirements and manufacturability.
This also involves ownership of test reports and physical component documentation management and the ability to interact with different stakeholders across various time zones.
- Requirement analysis and feasibility studies
- Physical assembly definition and selection of relevant technologies/components
- Design development and technical detailed design
- Samples and unit test/qualification and reporting
Must have
Education: MS in Mechanical Engineering.
Hands-on experience and proficiency in CAD modeling (CREO preferred) and physical component development.
Fluency in English interest to work in a multinational company environment
Availability to travel across Europe and Far East Asia when needed
It would be nice if you had
Expertise in mechanical design and thermal simulations and design verification in miniaturized components
Previous experience or knowledge in mechanical design for telecommunications equipment
Hands on experience with mechanical design manufacturing
