Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre – Sweden

Working Arrangement: Remote / Hybrid – Occasional Site Visits

Optimus Search is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a major data centre project on a freelance basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, HVAC and cooling infrastructure to contribute to a large-scale, mission-critical project.

The client is looking for an experienced professional who can work independently, coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and provide technical expertise throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities across data centre infrastructure.
• Review and develop mechanical designs, including HVAC, cooling systems, ventilation and associated pipework.
• Produce and review technical drawings, engineering specifications and design documentation.
• Utilise Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD for mechanical design, modelling and coordination.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural and architectural teams to ensure effective integration of mechanical systems.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, technical issues and engineering challenges.
• Ensure mechanical designs meet project specifications, technical standards and delivery requirements.
• Provide technical support throughout the design and construction phases.

Requirements

• Proven experience working on large-scale data centre projects.
• Strong background in mechanical engineering, preferably within mission-critical environments.
• Senior-level experience in mechanical design and engineering coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure and mechanical services.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and BIM teams.
• Ability to manage technical deliverables independently and work to demanding project deadlines.
• Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.
