Mechanical Engineer I Job Purpose: This engineer is responsible for the structural design and reliability of refrigerated systems. Key Responsibilities: Project coordination responsibility of taking designs through the cross functional approval and change implementation from concept to production. Coordinate the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects. Design and/or redesign products to develop new products, improve performance, and/or reduce cost while meeting regulatory requirements (UL, ASHRAE). Design products for Manufacturability, Assembly and Reliability. Modify existing designs to improve cost positions. Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Requires 1+ years of experience Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Able to work well with others both in and outside of the department Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Sense of ownership & urgency with projects and work assignments. Possess good working knowledge of the following software: S-Excel 3D Modeling (SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Pro-E, etc…) AutoCAD MS-PowerPoint MS-Word MS-Access a plus AI a plus Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Basic working knowledge of the SAP environment a plus. Design management experience in reviewing models, drawings, and Bills of Material a plus. Experience working with sheet metal parts and plastics a plus.
