Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and products. This intermediate-level role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams, under moderate supervision. The engineer will contribute to projects from concept through production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Create and refine mechanical designs using CAD software.
Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
HVAC System design
Project Execution:
Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure integrated solutions.
Manage tasks within project timelines and budgets.
Construction administration and project management.
Provides project status updates
Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure designs meet applicable codes, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and Smith Engineering standards.
Maintain adherence to internal quality and documentation processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and performance optimization.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in mechanical engineering.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience during which you gained experience working with HVAC projects including central plants
Required Skills:
CAD software (AutoCAD).
