The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Mechanical Simulation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Develops and executes mechanical simulations to support medical product design and development including device verification & validation Performs complex technical analysis, including numerical model development, non-linear material modeling, dynamic systems, failure analysis, structural integrity analysis, and damage analysis, data reduction, data plotting, and data visualization Collaborates and communicates with R&D and cross-functional teams to provide insights and ensure business needs are met Documents simulation workflows and results to meet commercialization and regulatory requirements Your Skills and Expertise Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution (verified prior to start) Five (5) years experience in mechanical simulations within industry OR Master’s Degree or higher in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution (verified prior to start) with a focus on computational simulations Three (3) years experience in mechanical simulations within industry OR Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline from an accredited institution (verified prior to start) with a computational focus applied to healthcare applications AND Solid Mechanics Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Modeling experience in Comsol, Abaqus or Ansys Experience with CAD software (Solidworks preferred) Preferred Qualifications: Experience in mechanical simulations with a focus on medical device design, fatigue or fracture predictions, or other relevant failure mode analysis Experience with non-linear and rate-dependent material modeling Proficiency with Computational Fluid Dynamics, and/or other numerical methods and common frameworks for developing these workflows ( Abaqus, COMSOL, Python) Proficiency with CAD (Solidworks preferred) and mesh generation/manipulation techniques and applications Excellent communication skills including the ability to explain simulation workflows and results to non-experts Mechanical modeling experience within ASME V&V40 framework Work location: Bangalore (Hybrid) Travel: May include up to 10 % domestic and/or international Supporting Your Well-being Solventum offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
