Job Summary

We're looking for a Design Lead who can bring big ideas to life across our media campaigns — digital, social, out-of-home, video, and print. You'll take brand guidelines, campaign strategies, and media plans and turn them into iconic, impactful, and influential creative. This means leading concepts from the first sketch to the final polished assets, keeping everything on-brand, and teaming up with strategists, media planners, writers, creative directors, and account folks to create campaigns built to scale. You'll also get to mentor early-career designers and creatives, and help shape our creative process.

You'll need a passion for your craft and a curiosity for what's possible, translating conceptual ideas into engaging, audience-focused ads. With a fluency in digital design systems and a keen understanding of multimedia, you'll use a robust understanding of platform-specific best practices and creative ingenuity to deliver top-tier ads. In this role, you'll work in a feedback-driven environment, balancing conceptual thinking with production expertise while continuously pushing boundaries in design, technology, and culture to create work that's data-informed and human-focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design ideation for a variety of mediums — social, digital, OOH, print, motion, and experiential activations.
  • Establish and maintain the art direction for campaign visuals, ensuring our work stays on brand and cohesive across channels.
  • Collaborate with other creatives, strategists, and account teams to develop design concepts that meet client objectives and resonate with target audiences.
  • Guide and mentor designers and partner closely with writers.
  • Present your design work, explaining your creative approach and rationale, both internally and to clients.
  • Incorporate creative feedback with care, ensuring that revisions align with project objectives while maintaining a high standard of craft.
  • Contribute and offer insight at every stage of the process, from brainstorming sessions and strategic discussions, to concepting and creation, to campaign performance reviews and optimization planning.
  • Take ownership of your work, consistently meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects and adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Stay current on design trends, platform-specific specs, compliance and accessibility, and general best practices, with an eagerness to apply new techniques and technologies to your projects.
  • Produce creative outputs that meet platform and vendor specifications and reflect Ologie's design standards.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the objectives and scope of the role.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • 7+ years of graphic design experience in an agency or consulting environment.
  • A portfolio that shows both strong ideas and clean execution across a variety of different media formats.
  • Fluency in Figma (comfort with prototyping and design systems in Figma is a big plus) as well as the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator). Familiarity with After Effects or similar animation software is a plus.
  • A strong eye for typography, hierarchy, color usage, and layout structure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to articulate ideas clearly, give and receive feedback constructively, and thrive in client-facing discussions.
  • Ability to independently own projects and manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding younger creatives.
  • Ability to earn and maintain platform-specific certifications (e.g., Meta Creative Best Practices, LinkedIn, Google) and apply them to your work.
  • Bachelor's degree in art, graphic design, or a related field preferred but not required.

You'll stand out to us if you have:

  • Experience with higher education branding or marketing, and a genuine understanding of the audiences and challenges that shape this work.

Work Environment, Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to perform job duties from a home office setup, which may include prolonged periods of sitting, using a computer, and engaging in virtual communication.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly, with the ability to use a phone, video conferencing tools, communication software, and email to communicate effectively with employees and clients.
  • Must have adequate vision to view computer screens and read printed materials regularly.
  • Must be able to perform basic physical tasks such as reaching, standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and operating standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to meet regular attendance and schedule requirements of approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended time to meet business needs.
  • This position requires the ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time in support of client, industry, and internal events, including overnight travel.

Don't meet all of our preferences? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Ologie, we are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace, so if you're excited about this role, but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification listed above, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this role or another.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of the role.
