Create What’s Next in Education: Shape Learning Through AI
Ready to put your creativity and AI expertise to work for a bigger purpose? At Michigan Virtual, you’ll use generative AI to create engaging, accessible multimedia experiences that help K–12 students learn in new ways. Join a team that brings people and technology together to shape the future of education in Michigan.
About the role: The Media Development Specialist (AI Content Developer) is responsible for the creation, enhancement, and replacement of multimedia instructional content across Michigan Virtual’s student course catalog using AI-powered tools. This role focuses on leveraging advanced prompting techniques and generative AI platforms to produce high-quality, engaging, and accessible multimedia (i.e., digital video, animation, audio, images, interactive, and text-based) content aligned with instructional goals.
While the role will engage in generating content assets in multiple forms of media, the Media Development Specialist (AI Content Developer) will primarily focus on the production of high-quality instructional videos. Unlike traditional video production roles, this position emphasizes expertise in AI tools and prompt engineering rather than manual video editing or filming. The Media Development Specialist (AI Content Developer) will collaborate with curriculum, course support, and instructional design teams to analyze existing video assets, identify opportunities for improvement or replacement, and generate new AI-driven video/audio/image content that enhances learner engagement and comprehension.
This role also supports ongoing course improvement initiatives by iterating on AI-generated media, refining prompts, evaluating outputs, and adjusting parameters to ensure accessibility compliance, maintain consistency with Michigan Virtual’s instructional standards, and otherwise achieve a desired result.
