Who We Are
We’re GIG – where retail media meets agency-grade agility. Backed by Smollan, we partner with world-class retailers and global brands to build, commercialise, and scale high-impact retail media networks. We operate at the intersection of commerce, data, and creative technology, driven by a people-first ethos built on integrity, accountability, and bold thinking.
As Media Product Director, you will serve as the principal architect and executive champion of GIG’s end-to-end media portfolio. Bridging commercial strategy, adtech innovation, and omnichannel retail, you will drive the design, go-to-market execution, and continuous yield optimisation of our digital and in-store media products.
Working as a close strategic partner to our Product & Proposition Director, Commercial Leadership, and Client Solutions teams, you will ensure GIG’s media inventory is differentiated, scalable, programmatic-ready, and commercially engineered for high-margin growth. Externally, you will be the authoritative voice of our proposition across the agency and retail landscape.
The Mission
Retail media is rapidly maturing into a full-funnel performance and brand engine. Your mission is to establish GIG as the market-defining retail media partner by:
- Unified Proposition: Unifying digital (on-site, off-site, programmatic) and physical (digital in-store, point of sale) media estates into frictionless, high-ROI commercial products.
- Grounding Decisions in Commercial Rigour: Driving proposition strategy with strict financial accountability, linking every format and tech investment to clear payback models, margin health, and top-line client revenue.
- Future-Proofing the Portfolio: Anticipating where adtech,,identity, and media-buying behaviours are moving, translating emerging trends into immediate revenue opportunities.
- Setting the Industry Agenda: Elevating GIG’s profile across the wider media and advertising community via thought leadership, strategic partnerships, and C-suite client credibility.
- Developing High-Calibre Talent: Directing a multi-tiered product organisation to produce market-leading, agency-ready media packages.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and deliver the multi-year media product vision across in-store and digital channels. Translate complex formats into clear, client-ready collateral while balancing revenue goals with the shopper experience.
- Build business cases, rate cards, inventory rules, and trading frameworks that maximise yield, drive ROI, and remain competitive against pure-play digital networks.
- Own the media tech roadmap. Evaluate and integrate programmatic tools, DSP/SSP platforms, and data partners to scale capability efficiently.
- Partner with commercial teams to unlock agency, performance, and non-endemic spend, ensuring all formats are commercially viable and sales teams are fully trained.
- Act as the lead media expert in C-suite pitches and joint business planning (JBP), shaping bespoke media blueprints for retail partners.
- Collaborate with Insights to establish closed-loop Return On Ad Spend (ROAS) and sales lift Directly manage and mentor the Heads of In-Store and Digital Media Product and their teams, cultivating a culture of innovation, accountability, and commercial rigour.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven Media Product Leadership: Demonstrable track record leading media product development, packaging, and commercialisation, gained within a Retail Media Network (RMN), Media Agency network, digital publisher, or AdTech provider.
- Agency & Ecosystem Literacy: Deep familiarity with how agency planners, programmatic traders, and brand marketers evaluate and buy media (rate cards, programmatic pipes, audience data, CPM/CPC/ROAS metrics).
- Commercial Acumen: Hands-on experience developing business cases, yield-management models, inventory frameworks, and rate card strategies that deliver demonstrable margin growth.
- Omnichannel Breadth: Sound understanding of both digital display/programmatic ecosystems and physical/in-store media networks (and the convergence between them).
- People Leadership: Proven ability to manage people managers, setting clear team vision while coaching specialists across disparate disciplines (in-store vs. digital).
- C-Suite Gravitas: Confident presentation and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing retail executives, agency heads, and brand CMOs.
- Execution Focus: A strategic mindset that easily pivots to the operational mechanics of bringing new media formats from ideation to sales-ready reality.
