About the job:

As Medical Head, Vaccines within our North Europe team, you'll lead the medical organization across eight countries — Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg — shaping the medical strategy for RSV, COVID-19, Influenza, pertussis combination, and travel vaccines. You'll partner with public health authorities, build a high-performing team, and turn scientific insight into real impact for patients. Ready to get started?

North Europe is one of Sanofi's Key Markets, reflecting the region's strategic importance to our global vaccines business. You'll report to the Key Markets Medical Head, Vaccines, and sit on both the North Europe Vaccines Leadership Team and the Key Markets Medical Leadership Team, working closely with market access, regulatory, public affairs, and commercial colleagues across the region.

About Sanofi: We're an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people's lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people's lives.

Main responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the medical strategy across the North Europe countries, aligning global franchise priorities with the distinct regulatory, reimbursement, and immunization programs of the Nordics and Benelux
  • Lead and develop the medical team across all eight countries, building a high-performing, engaged organization with strong succession depth
  • Own medical plans, budget, and performance across the region, from pre-launch through post-launch for both established and new vaccines
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with national public health authorities and medicines agencies, academic institutions, key opinion leaders, and medical societies across the region
  • Partner with national registry stakeholders to generate real-world evidence, strengthening North Europe's reputation for high-quality, registry-based research
  • Champion the use of AI-driven tools and data analytics to strengthen medical excellence, evidence generation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure full compliance with international, European, and local pharmaceutical codes, working closely with governance, quality, and pharmacovigilance teams

About you:

  • Experience leading medical affairs strategy and execution at national level and across multiple countries, ideally within the Nordics and/or Benelux, with a track record of managing multi-country teams
  • Experience building a culture of scientific excellence and accountability, develop high-performing teams with strong succession depth, and stay decisive and resilient in complexity and ambiguity
  • A scientific or clinical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent)
  • Experience engaging national health authorities, key opinion leaders, and scientific stakeholders across North Europe
  • Experience with evidence generation programs leveraging national registries, including real-world evidence, post-marketing surveillance, and vaccine effectiveness studies.
  • Comfortable working across functions — R&D, Commercial, Market Access, Public Affairs, Patient Safety, and Regulatory
  • Familiarity with deploying digital tools and data analytics to improve medical operations
  • You uphold the highest ethical standards and scientific rigor in every decision
  • Fluency in English; additional Nordic or Benelux languages are a plus

Why choose us?

  • Bring the miracles of science to life alongside a supportive, future-focused team
  • Discover endless opportunities to grow your talent and drive your career, with benefits including a comprehensive, flexible rewards package
  • Enjoy a thoughtful, well-crafted onboarding process designed to help you integrate seamlessly
  • Take advantage of a flexible work environment that supports a strong work-life balance
  • Shape the medical strategy for some of Sanofi's most important vaccine franchises across a uniquely diverse and strategically important region
  • Join a genuinely international, multicultural team spanning the Nordics and Benelux
