Medical Science Liaison Oncology (Medical Affairs)

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the field of oncology is a critical role within the Medical Affairs team. The MSL serves as a scientific expert and primary point of contact for healthcare professionals (HCPs), including oncologists, researchers, and other stakeholders involved in cancer care. This position requires a deep understanding of oncology therapeutics, clinical research, and the competitive landscape to effectively communicate complex scientific information and support the development and commercialization of oncology products. Main Responsibilities  Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of oncology disease states, treatment paradigms, and emerging therapies. Stay current with relevant literature, clinical trials, and advancements in oncology to provide accurate information to HCPs. Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other influential HCPs in the oncology field. Assist in the recruitment of investigators for ongoing studies by providing scientific support and resources. Work closely with commercial teams to ensure alignment between medical strategy and business objectives. Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with industry regulations regarding communication of scientific information.  Profile  Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in life sciences or related field; specialization in oncology preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a medical science liaison role or similar position within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry. Strong knowledge of oncology therapeutic areas including but not limited to solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, immunotherapy, targeted therapies. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly. Proven ability to build relationships with KOLs and engage effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
