This position's work location is fully remote with the ocassional time onsite as needed. The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI). The Medical Staff Coordinator II is an experienced individual who will work with the Manager to standardize and improve credentialing workflows. The Medical Staff Coordinator II will provide support and guidance to staff in the Medical Staff Office including answering questions about policies and procedures. He/she will work in conjunction with the Manager to assist the department in reaching quality goals and support Institute goals (e.g., process cycle times, customer service, efficient processes). Prepares for committee meetings. Assists in managing the flow of information between the OMAPC team, Revenue Cycle, Finance Teams and Credentials Committee, Department Chairs and Program Administrators. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads, coordinates, and monitors the review and analysis of practitioner applications and accompanying documents for all credentialing and provider enrollment of physicians and allied health applicants. Conducts thorough background investigation research and primary source verifications of all components of the application. Identifies issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies, and ensures appropriate follow-up with Manager/Supervisor. Prepares credentials file through completion and presentation to department Chair, Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee. Builds and maintains CAQH and other payor files for providers. Assists Supervisor/Manager with MSEC/MSAC committee presentations and meetings. Assists Supervisor/Manager with special projects and other duties as needed and may assume certain responsibilities when the Supervisor/Manager is unavailable. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Working knowledge of MD-Staff software preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Can effectively convey information dealing with complex medical, technical, and legal issues using written and oral communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with diverse groups. Working knowledge of CAQH. Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team and handle multiple priorities at one time. Plan and perform a wide variety of duties requiring knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures. Demonstrate critical thinking and analysis in all responsibilities. Work effectively as a team member with diverse individuals both within the Institute and externally. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent experience; bachelor’s degree preferred. 3 years’ experience in medical staff services/provider credentialing required. Knowledge of billing processes, managed care or provider credentialing preferred. Consistently assigns and updates provider files before any expirables lapse (ACLS/BLS/PALS). Pay Transparency Statement The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications. For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). $63,200.00 - $69,500.00
