Is this job info correct?
To strengthen our Global Sustainability team in Ede, we are currently hiring an experienced LCA Specialist who will play a key part in advancing our sustainability ambitions.

As part of our Global Sustainability team, you will work closely with colleagues from different disciplines and business units worldwide, contributing insights that shape our sustainability strategy and support informed decision-making. In addition, you will act as a key knowledge partner for colleagues across our international organization.

What will you do?

Responsibilities

As an LCA Specialist, you will be responsible for developing the calculation rules behind Life Cycle Assessment tools and calculations for Greenhouse Gas emissions at De Heus. Your tasks include:

  • Conducting Life Cycle Assessments for our feed products and production processes.
  • Co-creating tools to calculate on-farm environmental impacts like carbon footprint for our customers.
  • Advising colleagues and management on sustainability, translating complex analyses into clear opportunities for improvement.
  • Identifying trends and developments within the LCA landscape and translating these into De Heus initiatives.
  • Keeping up to date on environmental impact databases (such as GFLI) and methodologies (such as PEFCR Feed) to ensure the highest data quality and transparency.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to realize sustainable solutions.

What do you bring?

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on LCA experience, preferably in an international environment. You have independently carried out LCA calculations in line with ISO 14040/14044 and are comfortable working with LCA tools.
  • Strong affinity for the agricultural sector in topics like animal nutrition, feed production, or farming systems. You understand the practical realities of on-farm processes and can translate this knowledge into accurate, relevant LCA calculations.
  • Strong analytical skills: you recognize patterns, make connections, and make well-founded decisions based on data.
  • A track record of initiating and driving projects independently, with a proactive, hands-on attitude. You don't wait for direction; you take the initiative.
  • Stakeholder management skills: you navigate a results-oriented global organization and connect easily across departments, countries, and cultures. You can translate complex processes into clear communication for non-specialists.
  • Perseverance: you're not afraid of complexity or setbacks, and you stay focused on driving improvements even when things get tough.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal); proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.

What do we offer?

  • A position for 32-40 hours per week in a company that is constantly evolving.
  • A competitive salary matching your experience, a fixed year-end bonus of 4%, an excellent pension plan, 25 vacation days, and the option to extend your leave by purchasing additional hours or vacation days.
  • Focus on vitality through a company fitness plan, flexible remote work, including resources to set up your (home) workspace responsibly.
  • An entrepreneurial and informal company culture with room for autonomy and responsibility.
  • Opportunities for professional development in your field. We value people who consistently raise the bar for themselves and are happy to invest in your growth.
