Minumum Qualification:
- Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
- Hold licensure as a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) from the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing group and individual counseling preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver's license and current auto insurance.
- Must possess knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse) and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What You'll Do:
Assessment and Evaluation
- Conduct comprehensive functional and behavioral assessments.
- Evaluate emotional, social, environmental, and physiological factors affecting the individual.
- Analyze vulnerabilities, behavioral risks, and medication effects.
- Facilitate mental health evaluations and diagnoses.
- Assess decision-making capacity and guardianship-related considerations, when necessary.
Treatment Planning
- Participate in Person-Centered Planning (PCP) meetings.
- Develop individualized support plans that promote:
- Meaningful relationships
- Personal choice and independence
- Skill development and acquisition
- Positive behavioral outcomes
- Create measurable goals, objectives, interventions, and timelines.
Therapeutic Services
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy when needed.
- Implement behavioral interventions and skill-building programs.
- Deliver crisis intervention services when needed.
Consultation and Coordination
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, support staff, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide referrals to psychiatrists, community providers, and other support services.
- Consult with the individual's circle of support regarding professional recommendations.
Training and Education
- Train individuals, family members, caregivers, direct support professionals, and other stakeholders on support plans and behavioral strategies.
Monitoring and Quality Assurance
- Evaluate progress toward treatment goals.
- Develop and maintain outcome measures such as charts, graphs, journals, and behavioral data.
- Prepare and present cases to the Behavior Treatment Plan Review Committee (BTPRC).
- Monitor effectiveness of interventions and revise plans as needed.
