Show job description

Aspire To Wellness Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically skilled therapist to join our growing outpatient mental health practice. We are especially interested in clinicians with experience working with children and adolescents, while also welcoming therapists who are comfortable providing services to adults.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about helping young clients navigate emotional, behavioral, social, and family challenges. We value clinicians who understand child and adolescent development, can build strong therapeutic relationships, and are comfortable collaborating with parents and caregivers when clinically appropriate.

The position offers opportunities to provide in-person therapy at our Newburgh, NY office and virtual services, depending on clinician availability and practice needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults within your training, experience, and scope of practice.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized, measurable treatment plans.
  • Address concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, social difficulties, family conflict, and life transitions.
  • Use developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, and trauma-informed therapeutic interventions.
  • Engage parents and caregivers in treatment when clinically appropriate, particularly when working with children and adolescents.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and other providers when appropriate and with the required consent and authorization.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in clinical consultation, supervision when applicable, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, appropriate professional boundaries, and compliance with applicable regulations and practice policies.

Qualifications

  • New York State licensure or an eligible permit in a qualifying mental health profession, such as LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMHC Limited Permit, or LMFT, consistent with the role and applicable supervision requirements.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to establish rapport with young clients and adapt interventions to their developmental needs.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed therapy, family systems approaches, or other appropriate therapeutic modalities.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive clinical team.
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, ethical, and client-centered care.

Preferred Experience and Specialized Training

We especially welcome clinicians with experience or training in one or more of the following:

  • Childhood and adolescent anxiety, depression, ADHD, and emotional regulation.
  • Trauma, adverse childhood experiences, and family dynamics.
  • Play therapy, sand tray therapy, or other developmentally appropriate interventions.
  • EMDR or other trauma-focused treatment approaches.
  • Parent and caregiver support and family collaboration.
  • Social skills, interpersonal relationships, and behavioral challenges.
  • Spanish or other additional language proficiency.

What We Offer

  • A supportive, collaborative clinical environment.
  • Opportunities to build a caseload aligned with your clinical interests and areas of competence.
  • Flexible scheduling opportunities, including weekday, evening, and/or weekend availability based on practice needs.
  • In-person and telehealth service options.
  • Administrative support with scheduling, billing, and practice operations.
  • Clinical consultation and professional development opportunities.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, adolescents, adults, and families in our community.

Compensation and employment arrangements will be discussed during the interview process based on qualifications, experience, and position structure.
