Could you help people feel more confident about their energy choices and make a real difference to their homes, bills and future?

At the Wise Group, we work alongside people and communities to create positive, lasting change. As a delivery partner for Home Energy Scotland, commissioned by Energy Saving Trust, we provide trusted, impartial energy advice that helps households understand their options and take practical steps towards warmer, more energy-efficient homes.

We are looking for a Mentor who can combine excellent customer service with the ability to listen, build trust and explain information clearly.

This is a varied, people-focused role. You might be supporting someone over the phone with their energy costs, helping a household understand heating or renewable options, attending a community event, or guiding a customer through the next steps that are right for them.

You'll also help build positive relationships with local organisations and partners, making it easier for people to access advice and ensuring that what we learn from customers helps improve our services.

If you enjoy helping people, solving problems and turning information into practical support, this is a role where you can make a real difference every day.

What you'll do

  • Provide tailored energy advice and support to customers by telephone, email and face to face.

  • Help customers understand energy efficiency, heating, renewables and tariffs in a clear and practical way.

  • Build positive relationships with customers and support them to make informed choices.

  • Represent Home Energy Scotland professionally at community events and partner forums, building relationships that help more households access trusted energy advice.

  • Manage your own caseload, maintain accurate CRM records and work towards agreed targets.

  • Share customer insight, learning and ideas that help improve customer experience and service quality.

  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider Home Energy Scotland team.

What you'll bring

We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised and genuinely motivated by helping people.

You will bring:

  • Experience in energy advice, welfare, mentoring or another customer-focused environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with customers, community organisations and partners.

  • Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Confidence using CRM systems, Microsoft 365 and performance information.

  • A willingness to learn, develop and keep building your knowledge.

Qualifications and development

You will need to achieve the required Home Energy Scotland SQA qualification and City & Guilds Energy Awareness Level 3 if you do not already hold them.

We welcome applications from people who do not yet have these qualifications but can demonstrate the potential and commitment to complete the required training. Successful completion of the qualifications will be a requirement of the role.

Why join the Wise Group?

You will be joining a social enterprise with a long history of working alongside people and communities to create lasting change. We believe relationships matter. We want people to feel listened to, understood and supported to make the choices that are right for them.

Through our delivery of Home Energy Scotland, you will be part of a team helping households make practical decisions that can improve comfort, reduce energy use and support a more sustainable future.

You'll also be part of the wider Wise Group, where we value collaboration, learning and the relationships that help us create greater impact for people and communities.
