Merchant Acquisition Lead

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven, and hands-on Merchant Acquisition Lead to build from the ground up, refine the go-to-market and positioning

As one of our founding commercial hires, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and onboarding SMEs and enterprise merchants onto Weselaja's payment solutions. Beyond closing deals, you will help shape our go-to-market strategy, refine our value proposition, and establish scalable merchant acquisition processes.

This is a builder role suited for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys being close to customers, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get things done.

You will have significant ownership over the merchant acquisition journey, from prospecting and pitching to commercial negotiations, onboarding, and activation.

What you’ll do

• Identify, approach, and acquire SME and enterprise merchants across Indonesia.

• Manage the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and pitching to negotiation and onboarding.

• Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing merchants.

• Work with internal teams to ensure smooth merchant onboarding and activation.

• Gather market feedback to help refine our product offering, pricing, and go-to-market strategy.

• Identify potential merchant segments and business opportunities.

What you should have

• At least 3–5 years of experience in merchant acquisition, business development, or B2B sales, preferably in fintech or payments.

• Good understanding of Indonesia's digital payment landscape, including QRIS, virtual accounts, and e-wallets.

• Proven ability to acquire merchants and close commercial deals.

• Existing merchant relationships or networks in Indonesia would be a strong advantage.

• Self-driven, resourceful, and comfortable working in a lean, early-stage environment.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
