Job Title: Messaging Support Specialist
Monthly Pay: $4,291 - $5,877 USD per month
Summary:
Each shift begins with the messaging queue: customer emails and chats waiting for clear, useful answers. This messaging support role sits within the customer support team, works under a customer service team lead, and collaborates with product specialists on questions needing deeper investigation. The position is fully remote, offering work from home in Washington, United States. Throughout the shift, the specialist resolves written inquiries, maintains accurate case histories, and helps customers understand product features and service options without repeating their concerns. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review incoming email and chat tickets in a Support platform such as Zendesk, checking urgency, previous replies, and outstanding customer questions before responding.
- Check customer account context in a CRM such as Zoho CRM, verifying relevant service details against the information provided in the conversation.
- Write concise, personalized responses that explain product features, service information, account access steps, and available next actions in plain language.
- Guide customers through basic browser and account access checks, asking focused questions and confirming what happens after each suggested step.
- Manage active messaging conversations carefully, keeping replies consistent and letting customers know when additional investigation is needed rather than guessing.
- Record the inquiry, checks completed, guidance provided, and unresolved questions so another support team member can understand the case without restarting it.
- Escalate unresolved product issues to product specialists and sensitive or repeated service concerns to the customer service team lead, including relevant context.
- Follow up on pending tickets when updates arrive, confirm whether the proposed solution worked, and explain any remaining steps to the customer.
- Close resolved conversations with complete notes and clear outcomes, and flag recurring questions that could improve shared reference materials.
- Review shift results against quality expectations for response accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and follow-up, then hand over outstanding conversations with their next actions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- About 1-2 years of chat, email, or related customer support experience preferred.
- Familiarity with support queues, customer account histories, ticket status updates, and shared product reference materials.
- Ability to navigate web applications and explain straightforward browser or account access steps without unnecessary technical language.
- Strong business writing, typing accuracy, and ability to adapt tone while keeping responses clear, respectful, and complete.
- Sound judgment when distinguishing routine questions from issues requiring a product specialist or customer service team lead.
- A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a quiet private workspace suitable for handling customer conversations remotely.
- Availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Perks & Benefits:
- Fully remote work from home, with daily responsibilities handled through digital messaging and customer support systems.
- Structured onboarding and training cover a Support platform such as Zendesk and a CRM such as Zoho CRM.
- Regular check-ins with the team lead provide feedback, clarify priorities, and support consistent handling of customer questions.
- Build practical skills in written customer assistance, case investigation, accurate ticket notes, and cross-team coordination.
- Benefits include health coverage, paid leave, a 401(k), maternity leave, and stipends.
