Job Responsibility:
Responsible for developing new business opportunities and growing market share for the Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint product portfolio throughout the assigned territory in North America. The MetalPrint Sales Specialist serves as the primary commercial representative for Koenig & Bauer's metal decorating solutions, providing consultative sales support from prospecting through installation while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

The position works closely with Product Management, Engineering, Service, and the MetalPrint team in Europe to deliver complete solutions for metal packaging manufacturers.

Reports to: Senior Vice President of Sales

Direct Reports: N/A

Location: Remote with almost 50 – 70% travel should be located in the proximity of a major airport which allows frequent domestic and international travel to customer locations and Europe. As the corporate office is in Dallas, Texas, travel to Dallas will be required.
Standard Schedule:
Standard business hours are Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; however, schedule will vary depending on business demands and may require some early morning travel or evenings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, qualify, develop, and close sales opportunities for the complete Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint product portfolio.
  • Develop long-term relationships with metal decorating customers and key decision makers.
  • Identify opportunities for new equipment, modernization, automation, retrofits, and service offerings.
  • Prepare equipment quotations, commercial proposals, and sales presentations.
  • Conduct consultative sales discussions focused on customer productivity, quality improvements, sustainability, and return on investment.
  • Coordinate technical discussions between customers and Koenig & Bauer engineering and product management teams.
  • Maintain detailed customer activity, opportunity pipelines, installed equipment base, and competitive intelligence within Salesforce.
  • Prepare weekly activity reports, monthly forecasts, and annual territory business plans.
  • Participate in customer demonstrations, factory acceptance tests, installations, and startup activities as needed.
  • Represent Koenig & Bauer at trade shows, technical conferences, customer open houses, and industry association meetings.
  • Support existing key accounts while developing new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
  • Work collaboratively with service, project management, parts, finance, and product management teams to ensure exceptional customer support.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitive technologies, sustainability initiatives, and emerging market opportunities within metal packaging.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint product portfolio, including:
  • Metal decorating printing presses
  • Coating systems
  • Drying technologies
  • Automation solutions
  • Inspection systems
  • Digital workflow integration
  • Modernization and retrofit solutions
  • Service products and lifecycle support

Sales: Demonstrates a consultative selling approach by understanding customer manufacturing challenges and aligning Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint solutions with operational, financial, and strategic objectives. Effectively communicates the value proposition of MetalPrint technology while building executive-level relationships throughout customer organizations.

  • Metal decorating processes
  • Two-piece and three-piece can production
  • Food can manufacturing

Customer Focus: Builds trusted advisor relationships with customers by providing responsive communication, technical guidance, and long-term partnership throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Packaging, Printing Technology, or related discipline preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of capital equipment sales experience preferred.
  • Experience within metal decorating, packaging, printing, converting, or industrial manufacturing markets strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling complex engineered systems.
  • Experience working with long sales cycle capital equipment.
  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following industries:
    • Beverage can manufacturing
    • Food can manufacturing
    • Aerosol packaging
    • Metal closures
    • Specialty metal packaging
    • Metal decorating
    • Industrial printing

Frequent travel required:

    • Approximately 50–70% domestic travel throughout North America.
    • Periodic international travel for customer visits, training, and factory meetings in Europe.
    • Ability to travel for extended customer visits, trade shows, and equipment installations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong consultative selling skills.
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and plant management.
  • Financial acumen including ROI and capital investment justification.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with global teams.

Computer Skills: Computer literacy with basic knowledge of e-mail, internet navigation, word processing, spreadsheets, and other business system software and solid experience operating control systems, software, and hardware related to printing equipment. CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
