About the Company
Suzhou Suna Optoelectronics (SUNA) is a leading IDM supplier of silicon lenses and silicon capacitors for high-speed optical communication and emerging CPO architectures, with end-to-end wafer-level manufacturing and global customer coverage.
About the Role
Micro-Optics Technical Consultant located in Switzerland (Remote / On-site consultation), engagement type: Consultant / Part-time advisory. SUNA Optoelectronics is seeking an experienced Micro-Optics Technical Consultant based in Switzerland, to provide expert technical advisory on wafer-level micro-optics, silicon lens development and nanoimprint lithography processes targeting CPO, high-speed optical communication and AI optical interconnect ecosystems. This role will serve as our external technical advisor, supporting optical design feasibility review, imprint process optimization, master tooling development, yield troubleshooting and technical benchmarking.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultation on wafer-level micro-optics, silicon lens design, diffractive and free-form optical structures for next-generation CPO and optical communication applications.
- Advise on nanoimprint lithography (NIL) process flow, including master fabrication, replication, demolding, material selection, overlay and profile control for micro-optical components.
- Conduct technical reviews of optical designs, process recipes, metrology data and failure analysis reports; identify technical risks and propose improvement paths for yield and manufacturability.
- Benchmark industry state-of-the-art micro-optics and imprint technologies across European and global suppliers, share market and technical roadmap insights.
- Support internal engineering teams on feasibility assessment, supplier evaluation (SUSS, EVG, TOK, JSR etc.), and guide NPI for wafer-level silicon micro-optics.
- Participate in periodic technical workshops, deep-dive problem-solving sessions and provide structured advisory reports as agreed.
- Advise on optical tolerance analysis, characterization methodology and reliability requirements for silicon micro-optics deployed in high-speed optical modules.
Required Skills
- Deep hands-on expertise in wafer-level micro-optics, microlens arrays, diffractive optics, free-form optics and nanoimprint lithography.
- Solid experience with master making, imprint replication, optical metrology and process tuning for micro-optical components.
- Familiar with optical communication, silicon photonics or CPO co-packaged optics use cases is strongly preferred.
- Background working with SUSS, EVG or other nanoimprint / wafer optics equipment vendors is a plus.
- Ability to work as an independent technical consultant in Switzerland, communicate fluently in English.
- Proven track record of industrial R&D, process development or technical consulting for micro-optics.
