Our client is seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Techno-Functional Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Business Central solutions. This role bridges business strategy and technical execution, requiring deep functional knowledge of Business Central modules combined with strong development and integration expertise. The ideal candidate will act as an architectural authority, translating business requirements into scalable, efficient, and maintainable ERP solutions.
- Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations, upgrades, and migrations (on-premises and cloud).
- Translate complex business requirements into functional specifications and technical designs across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Projects, Sales, and Inventory modules.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, coding best practices, and solution governance frameworks for Business Central projects.
- Design and oversee customizations using AL language, extensions, and Power Platform components while adhering to Microsoft's extensibility model.
- Architect integrations between Business Central and third-party systems (CRM, e-commerce, payroll, banking, EDI, warehouse management, and custom APIs) using REST/OData APIs, Azure Logic Apps, Power Automate, and middleware tools.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis, lead workshops with business stakeholders, and provide expert recommendations on process improvements and system capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to functional consultants, developers, and analysts across the delivery team.
- Oversee data migration strategy, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and cutover planning.
- Perform code reviews, solution audits, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with project managers to define scope, estimates, timelines, and resource plans for ERP initiatives.
- Stay current with Microsoft's Business Central roadmap, release waves, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Act as the escalation point for complex functional and technical issues during implementation and post-go-live support.
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including solution blueprints, data models, and integration diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with security, licensing, and regulatory requirements across all Business Central deployments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Minimum 3+ years in an architect-level role.
- Deep functional expertise in core Business Central modules: Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Projects.
- Strong hands-on development experience in AL language, Visual Studio Code, and Business Central extension development.
- Proven experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Dataverse integration.
- Solid understanding of Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, API Management) and cloud architecture principles.
- Expertise in REST/OData APIs, web services, and integration patterns.
- Experience with SQL Server, data migration tools, and ETL processes.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft's One Version, extensibility model, and AppSource deployment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead full-cycle ERP implementations from requirements gathering through go-live and support.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MB-800, MB-820, MB-700, or equivalent.
