At NRI, we bring together deep technology expertise, capability and real-world industry experience to help organisations solve complex challenges and shape what’s next. From IT advisory and enterprise transformation to quality engineering, cyber, cloud and managed services, we work across the full technology lifecycle - turning ideas into outcomes that make a difference. With a global heritage and a strong presence across Australia, New Zealand and Asia, we combine the scale and capability to take on complex challenges with the agility, collaboration and the personal connection of a local team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Lead a major Microsoft Intune and endpoint migration as part of a large-scale Microsoft 365 transformation program.
We're looking for an experienced Microsoft Intune Migration Lead to join a major internal IT transformation program, bringing two established organisations together into a single Microsoft 365 environment.
This is a key technical leadership role in a significant integration program consolidating Microsoft technologies, systems and services across the business.
You'll take ownership of the endpoint management workstream, leading the design, planning and delivery of a complex Intune tenant-to-tenant migration, alongside the transition from SCCM to Intune and the rollout of a new standard operating environment (SOE).
We're looking for someone who has personally delivered similar Microsoft Intune migrations, brings strong hands-on technical expertise and can confidently lead engineers through the full migration lifecycle.
This is an initial 12-month contract supporting a program with approximately 18 months of planned delivery remaining, providing potential for extension.
Candidates can be based anywhere in Australia; however, Sydney or Melbourne is preferred due to the majority of the project team being based on the East Coast. Candidates based elsewhere will need to be comfortable working predominantly to East Coast hours.
We offer hybrid working arrangements, balancing time in the office each week with the flexibility to work remotely, depending on role and location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the end-to-end migration of Microsoft Intune services and endpoint management capabilities between Microsoft 365 tenants.
- Assess existing SCCM and Intune environments, device estates, configurations and technical dependencies.
- Design and deliver the transition from SCCM to Intune, including co-management, workload migration and legacy service decommissioning.
- Develop and execute migration strategies, including deployment waves, cutover planning and rollback approaches.
- Lead the migration of device compliance policies, configuration profiles, endpoint security settings and application deployments.
- Design and implement device enrolment and provisioning using Windows Autopilot, Apple Business Manager and Android Enterprise.
- Support the rollout of a new SOE and management of Windows 11 and mobile devices.
- Work closely with security and identity teams on Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access and Zero Trust integration.
- Use PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API and Endpoint Analytics to automate migration activities, troubleshoot issues and report on device compliance.
- Provide technical leadership to engineers, manage complex migration issues and ensure successful transition into operational support.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience leading Microsoft Intune tenant-to-tenant migrations within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager and endpoint management technologies.
- Demonstrated experience migrating from SCCM to Intune, including co-management and workload transition.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11 deployment, Windows Autopilot, device provisioning and SOE environments.
- Experience managing device compliance, configuration profiles, endpoint security policies and application packaging.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM), including iOS/iPadOS and Android.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access and endpoint security integration.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Graph API.
- Experience with Endpoint Analytics, automation and technical troubleshooting.
- Ability to lead technical resources, coordinate migration cutovers and collaborate effectively with architects, security teams and project stakeholders.
