Our world demands low-carbon energy solutions to support a net zero future. GHD has a strong pipeline for the delivery of renewable energy projects in Western Australia and we are looking to expand our Energy team to support our clients in delivering their Renewable Energy initiatives.
We’re looking for project engineers and senior engineers to support our growing renewable energy portfolio. We’ll appoint at the level that best reflects your experience and capability.
You’ll work on renewable energy projects across Australia. You’ll contribute to, or lead, project development and delivery, owner’s engineer services and technical advice. The role focuses on project delivery, rather than wind modelling or energy yield assessment.
Depending on your experience, you may lead projects or take on more responsibility for delivery. You’ll bring fresh thinking to complex and rewarding work, backed by technical and project leaders. You’ll collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams across each project stage.
In this role, you will:
- Support the development and delivery of wind and other renewable energy projects
- Coordinate technical inputs and deliverables across multidisciplinary teams, while managing schedules and budgets
- Contribute to owner’s engineer services, project development and technical advice
- Prepare and review scopes of work, technical specifications and early stage engineering design
- Support procurement, contractor engagement and construction-phase activities
- Manage project risks and interfaces, while building effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Work with colleagues across Australia and our global network to deliver practical project outcomes
- Contribute to proposals and help identify how we can support current and prospective clients
For senior-level appointments, lead projects and support the development of other engineers
What you will bring:
- Ideally, a degree in electrical or mechanical engineering. We will also consider engineers from other disciplines or those with a masters in renewable energy who bring relevant renewable energy project delivery experience
- Relevant experience in engineering, project delivery or project management, ideally across wind, renewable energy, power generation or major infrastructure
- Experience supporting or delivering wind farm development, construction, owner’s engineer services or related project activities
- The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities and contribute to shared project outcomes
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders
- A practical and collaborative approach, with a commitment to safe project delivery and quality work
- Relevant experience for this role is often gained over 5 to 15 years, though we recognise that people build capability through different career paths. If your experience aligns with the role, we encourage you to apply.
- Experience with WindPRO or similar renewable energy tools would be useful, though it isn’t essential. We also value experience in solar, battery energy storage or other complementary energy technologies.
