Position Title: Digital Product Designer

What you will be doing:

• Develop high-quality, user-centered design solutions that address both product and business needs for digital products .

• Create and iterate on features and experiences from discovery through checkout and post-purchase, including AI-enabled features and their required edge cases, failure states, and trust cues.

• Contribute to the ongoing evolution and maturity of the design system, including tokens, components, patterns, and documentation.

• Partner with Product and Engineering to define and measure success metrics, and maintain parity between design and coded components.

• Write clear usage guidance, accessibility requirements, and naming conventions to identify inconsistency and design debt.

• Ensure all designs and components meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.

• Leverage AI tools responsibly to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, and prototyping, validating results against user needs and quality standards.

• Test designs through sketches, prototypes, and usability research, reviewing work prior to development handoff to ensure correct implementation.

• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Commerce, and Marketing partners to represent the design team and facilitate design discussions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Graphic/Web Design, Interaction Design, Product Design/UXUI, HCI, or a related design field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.

• 4+ years of experience in an individual contributor role on a Product Design team for web or mobile apps.

• Demonstrated experience contributing to, maintaining, or scaling a design system, with comfort working in a shared-ownership model.

• Professional portfolio showcasing strong product design capabilities, including UX, interaction design, and visual design.

• Advanced Figma (variables, auto layout, component architecture, Dev Mode) or equivalent, Adobe Creative Suite, and rapid prototyping tools.

• Experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (Figma Make, Claude), with sound judgment on when AI output is ready to ship.

• Deep understanding of UX/UI principles, processes, interaction design, visual design, and typography.

• Familiarity with HTML/CSS and an understanding of how design components map to code.

• Experience working a 45-hour workweek.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills to speak and write effectively, and present design rationale clearly to non-designers.

• Strong human relations skills to develop rapport, cooperate, and resolve conflict constructively.

• Strong research and planning skills to create ideas, imagine alternatives, gather information, and solve problems.

• Ability to manage time, attend to detail, set and meet deadlines, organize, and make decisions.
