Mid Level Business Analyst / Consultant (Asset Management & Power BI)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Consultant to provide business analysis and asset data management expertise in support of digital transformation initiatives, asset management planning, data governance, and data-driven decision making.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and project managers to improve business processes, enhance asset information management, and deliver technology-enabled business outcomes. A key focus of this role will be supporting current project workloads requiring advanced Power BI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

• Analyse and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
  
• Identify opportunities for technology-enabled business improvements.
  
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder consultations to gather and validate requirements.
  
• Translate business needs into detailed functional and system requirements.
  
• Develop business cases, process maps, use cases, and functional specifications.
  

Asset Data Management

• Maintain and improve asset registers and associated information systems.
  
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of asset data.
  
• Support asset lifecycle management and strategic asset planning initiatives.
  
• Develop processes and controls for effective asset information management.
  
• Monitor and improve asset data quality and reporting standards.
  

Data Governance & Reporting

• Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions using Power BI and related tools.
  
• Provide insights and recommendations through data analysis and reporting.
  
• Support evidence-based decision-making through accurate and timely information.
  

System Delivery & Change Support

• Support system implementation, integration, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  
• Assist with change management activities, training, and adoption initiatives.
  
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure solution requirements are delivered effectively.
  
• Coordinate issue resolution and support continuous improvement activities.
  

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with business users, project teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  
• Provide advice and recommendations relating to asset management, reporting, and business improvement.
  
• Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to achieve project outcomes.

• Change management and business readiness activities.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  

Desirable Skills

Experience in one or more of the following would be highly regarded:

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Asset Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  
• Industry certifications in Business Analysis, Asset Management, Data Analytics, or Project Management are desirable.
