Slope stability and seepage analyses. Filter compatibility analyses and evaluation of internal erosion. Analysis of settlement and lateral earth pressures. Analysis of liquefaction and seismic performance of embankment dams. Preparation of design plans and specifications for major dam modifications and new dams. Learn risk assessment approaches for evaluating dams and potential failure modes. Scope and performing geotechnical explorations and laboratory testing programs. Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures and collect data and measurements in the field. Perform or oversee construction monitoring, with opportunities for short and/or longer-term field assignments. Assist project managers with project coordination and administrative tasks. Interface with clients related to project progress and key information to support decision making. Engage in mentoring through on-the-job opportunities and Schnabel’s internal programs. Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, Master’s degree preferred 5+ years of design- and/or construction-oriented consulting engineering experience. Professional Engineering registration or ability to obtain registration within 6 months of hire. High proficiency in writing and reviewing reports in English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to lift 60 pounds and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders, and work outside. Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel. Experience with the latest version of AutoCAD & AutoCAD Civil 3D is beneficial but not required. Have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment. A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level. Other Requirements: Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, credit check. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening The compensation range for this position is between $75,000 to $110,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
