Mid-Level Contract Support Specialist

This position is Full Time and support the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Summary: Execute and advise on end-to-end acquisition actions for supplies/services/construction, ensuring compliant packages, sound pricing, and timely awards/mods.

Key responsibilities

• Apply working knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle and FAR/VAAR regulations.

• Conduct comprehensive research, cost/price data analysis, and evaluate certified pricing data to draft price reasonableness recommendations for Contracting Officers.

• Review and write requirement documents (SOW/PWS) and business recommendations to ensure receipt of sound procurement packages.

• Analyze and assist in the development of Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) and cost-benefit analyses.

• Plan, coordinate, and execute logistical actions and project milestones with technical experts and COs; support acquisition strategies and program tracking.

• Draft contract modifications, option notices, change orders, and supplemental agreements; monitor performance over the contract lifecycle to resolve claims and payment issues.

• Perform pre-award and post-award functions, including solicitation preparation, source selection documentation, contract administration, and complete contract closeout activities.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 24 semester hours in business/related fields (acctg, finance, law, contracts, econ, mgmt, marketing, quantitative methods).

• ≥3 years of recent (last 5) acquisition support experience with FAR/VAAR and agency

Tools & systems

MS 365 (Teams/Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint), SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, Chrome/Edge; government contract writing systems (eCMS), SAM.gov, CPARS, FPDS, GSA eBuy/Advantage, SBA.

Work setup & compliance

Remote (CONUS/AK/HI/PR); one-time travel to nearest VA site for fingerprinting/PIV/GFE pickup. Tour of duty coordinated with COR, Mon–Fri within 6:00–18:00 local; no federal-holiday
