Mid-level Full Stack Engineer (Portugal Only)

We are looking for a Mid-level Full Stack Engineer to join our product engineering team.

This is a genuinely full-stack role. You will work across our React frontend, Node.js backend and PostgreSQL data layer. We don't expect you to be equally strong in every area, but you should be comfortable working across the stack and taking ownership of features from implementation through to production.

We actively use AI-assisted development and see it as a force multiplier for good engineers, not a substitute for engineering fundamentals. You should understand the code you ship and be able to read, reason about, debug and improve complex code, whether it was written by you, a colleague or generated with AI. Our interview process will assess these fundamentals. We care about how you reason about code, identify problems and explain your technical decisions, not just whether you can produce a working solution.

You will work closely with other engineers, Product and Design to build and improve a platform used by product and experimentation teams to make important decisions.

As part of a small team, you will have significant visibility into the product and the problems we are solving for our customers.

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong TypeScript experience and comfortable working across frontend and backend
• Experience building modern web applications with React
• Experience developing backend services and APIs with Node.js
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Able to take ownership of a feature from implementation through testing and production
• Comfortable working autonomously as part of a small, fully remote engineering team
• Strong attention to code quality, maintainability and product usability
• Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to independently understand, debug and reason about complex code

Our current frontend stack includes TypeScript, React, Tailwind and React Aria. Our backend primarily uses Node.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL.

You don't need to have worked with every technology in our stack before joining. We care more about strong engineering fundamentals and your ability to learn and contribute.

• Experience building analytics, data or experimentation products, or hands-on experience using experimentation tools
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools effectively while maintaining strong engineering practices
• Experience with Java and/or Python

• Design, build, test and ship product features across our frontend and backend
• Work closely with Product and Design to turn customer and product problems into pragmatic technical solutions
• Own features throughout their lifecycle, from implementation to production and iteration
• Contribute to the reliability, performance and maintainability of the platform
• Review code and contribute to engineering standards and technical decisions
• Investigate and solve production issues when they arise
• Use AI-assisted development tools where they improve engineering productivity and quality
• Continuously improve how we build and ship software
