Join Akvelon — build products used by millions!
Akvelon is an IT company with 20+ years of experience and 1,200+ engineers across 15+ locations worldwide.
We work with both well-known global tech companies, including Microsoft, Facebook, Airbnb, Dropbox, and Pinterest, and with growing startups.
Our teams are involved in different types of engineering projects, from cloud solutions and AI/ML systems to big data, web, and mobile applications.
Since we are remote-first, our engineers work in distributed teams with flexible hours. We value ownership, clear communication, and the ability to take responsibility for your part of the work.
About the role
The role focuses on developing AI-driven solutions, building and configuring agent execution environments, and integrating AI tools into real software development processes.
The ideal candidate can independently deliver well-defined technical tasks, from clarifying requirements and proposing solutions to implementation, testing, deployment, and handover. Collaboration with experienced engineers on complex architectural decisions is expected.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with LLM applications, RAG, and agentic workflows, including tool integration and function calling
- Practical experience with MCP integrations, agent harnesses, and sub-agent orchestration, including state management, execution controls, and failure recovery
- Experience using and configuring coding agents (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) in real development workflows
- Solid Python or TypeScript/JavaScript skills, including APIs, databases, Git, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices
- Understanding of software architecture and system integrations, with hands-on experience in at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience with automated testing, AI evaluations, and feedback loops to improve solution quality
- Knowledge of agent governance and security, including access controls, permissions, and human-in-the-loop mechanisms
- Ability to independently deliver technical tasks and communicate effectively in advanced English
- Experience in technical presales, discovery sessions, and AI solution consulting
- Experience preparing technical proposals, effort estimates, and client presentations
- Experience conducting technical workshops, seminars, or knowledge-sharing sessions
- Practical experience introducing AI-assisted development practices into engineering workflows
Responsibilities
- Clarify requirements, propose technical solutions, and independently deliver well-defined engineering tasks from implementation through testing, deployment, and handover
- Develop LLM applications, RAG systems, and agentic workflows, integrating external tools and data sources through APIs and MCP
- Build and configure agent harnesses, manage agent state and tools, orchestrate sub-agents, and implement execution checks and recovery mechanisms
- Configure and apply coding agents in real development workflows, including environment setup, code review, testing, and quality controls
- Implement automated tests, AI evaluations, and feedback loops to improve solution quality, reliability, and performance
- Apply agent governance and security practices, collaborate on technical decisions, document solutions, and support the practical adoption of AI tools in engineering workflows
Availability expectations
- The role involves regular collaboration with US-based stakeholders, with availability until 10 AM Pacific Time
