Middle Payments & KYC Specialist – MENA

Job Description

We are seeking a Middle Payments and KYC Specialist in the MENA region to own day-to-day payment, transaction, and client verification operations, ensuring strict accuracy, risk mitigation, and seamless flow across client transactions. In this mid-level role, you will go beyond routine processing: you will handle complex operational escalations, analyze transactional anomalies, optimize payment routes, and mentor junior specialists.

This position is ideal for candidates with 2+ years in FinTech operations, back-office, or Tier 2/3 support who possess a solid grasp of payment flows, payment gateway integrations, and risk/KYC operational controls.

Responsibilities

• Payment & Transaction Operations: Oversee daily processing of deposits, withdrawals across multiple PSPs (Payment Service Providers) and payment methods (crypto, wire, credit card, e-wallets).
• Data & Discrepancy Validation: Cross-verify client profile data against transactional logs to detect name mismatches, currency conversion issues, and unusual withdrawal patterns.
• Complex Escalations & Case Handling: Serve as the senior point of escalation for customer support, fraud, and risk teams regarding stuck payments, chargebacks, and flagged account reviews.
• KYC & Verification Controls: Execute advanced identity verification checks, review high-risk account profiles, and perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) when required by internal protocols.
• Process Optimization & Documentation: Identify bottlenecks in payment execution or document verification, update SOPs/checklists, and recommend workflow improvements to reduce error rates.
• PSP & System Monitoring: Track conversion rates, processing success rates, and queue latency across payment routes; troubleshoot and report technical operational outages

Requirements

• 2–4 years of operational experience in FinTech, online brokerage/trading, iGaming, or payment processing environments.
• Solid understanding of global payment mechanics (e-wallets, SEPA/SWIFT, card processing, crypto deposits/withdrawals) and standard KYC/AML workflows.
• Proven experience handling queue-based ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Zendesk) and internal back-office administration portals.
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills: Ability to investigate mismatched ledger data, trace payment paths, and pinpoint transaction drop-offs.
• High attention to detail: Demonstrated ability to perform under high volume without sacrificing precision.
• Proactive ownership: Ability to make independent operational decisions within established guidelines and escalate risks promptly.
• Languages: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher in English (written and spoken) and Native in Arabic (written and spoken)
