Get to know us better

CodiLime is a software and network engineering industry expert and the first-choice service partner for top global networking hardware providers, software providers and telecoms. We create proofs-of-concept, help our clients build new products, nurture existing ones and provide services in production environments. Our clients include both tech startups and big players in various industries and geographic locations (US, Japan, Israel, Europe).

While no longer a startup - we have 250+ people on board and have been operating since 2011 we’ve kept our people-oriented culture. Our values are simple:

  • Act to deliver.

  • Disrupt to grow.

  • Team up to win.

The project and the team

We develop software for modern platforms and operating systems for leading networking equipment manufacturers, as well as various other cloud-native, containerized services and solutions.

We are looking for an engineer who could assist in a large-scale code reorganization and cleanup with the use of static analysis tools (Clang SA)

What else you should know:

  • The client is a global company with employees based in Europe, the US, and Asia

  • The project will be managed by the client, but the Codilime Engineering Manager will be assisting in the project management and coordination

  • Frequent collaboration with a US-based team will be required

  • Periodical sync calls with the customer may be required in the US-friendly hours (17:00 - 20:00)

Your role

As a part of the team, will be responsible for:

  • Research and define how to implement client requirements and ideas best

  • Take part in technical discussions with the client

  • Write and unit-test YANG-based mappings for OpenConfig models, using recently written designs.

  • Create unit tests for your code, conduct code review, create documentation, and take part in other activities related to software development

  • Liaise with the infra team to understand the YANG language as needed and to seek a review of the new YANG mapping.

  • Use AI agent–based tools to efficiently develop new tooling

  • Occasionally, take part in technical pre-sales meetings

Do we have a match?

As a Software Engineer, you must meet most of the following criteria:

  • Strong proficiency in C programming: Proven experience in reading, analyzing, and refactoring existing C codebases, with attention to memory safety and legacy code removal.

  • Familiarity with YANG data modeling: Practical understanding of YANG structures (containers, lists, leaves, data types) and hierarchical data schemas (OpenConfig, IETF, or vendor-specific models).

  • Core L2/L3 networking fundamentals: Solid grasp of essential networking concepts (e.g., Interfaces, VLANs, Routing, BGP, ACLs) to accurately interpret and map configuration parameters.

  • Linux development & scripting skills: Comfort working in Linux-based development environments (Git, build systems) and intermediate Python proficiency to execute, inspect, and debug automated regression test suites.

Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate the nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Network Operating Systems (NOS): Prior exposure to enterprise or service-provider platforms (e.g., Cisco IOS-XR, SONiC, Arista EOS, Junos) or CPE systems (e.g., prplOS, OpenWrt).

  • Hands-on network programmability: Practical experience with protocols like NETCONF, RESTCONF, or gNMI, alongside tooling such as pyang or schema validators.

  • Experience with DSLs or data translation engines: Prior work involving declarative domain-specific languages (DSLs), schema-to-schema mapping, or data-driven code generation.

  • Automated testing & CI/CD workflows: Experience with network test frameworks (e.g., PyTest, PTF, Scapy) and automated validation pipelines in enterprise environments.

More reasons to join us

  • Flexible working hours and approach to work: fully remotely, in the office or hybrid

  • Professional growth supported by internal training sessions and a training budget

  • Solid onboarding with a hands-on approach to give you an easy start

  • A great atmosphere among professionals who are passionate about their work

  • The ability to change the project you work on
