What is this role all about?

As a Mid or Senior Software Engineer at Infobip, you will be part of our Engineering Powerhouse, working on an in-house-developed product that operates at a global scale. As an engineer in our Tuzla office, you will join a team handling the challenges of large-scale architecture and building a scalable, balanced platform that sends over a billion messages daily and helps our clients grow their businesses.

It's an opportunity to work on our email communication channel, a part of our omnichannel communication platform, where we enable clients to create rich, targeted marketing and transactional emails at scale, tens of billions of emails monthly, while maintaining deliverability and ensuring emails land in the inbox.

When you join us, you will mostly work with Java and Kotlin. If you have a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, we still encourage you to apply, even if you have not worked with this exact tech stack before.

What you’ll do:

• Develop, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot team-owned services on Infobip’s platform

• Take full ownership of the code you produce, from development to production

• Write well-designed, testable, and scalable code following clean code principles

• Have a general overview and understanding of the interactions and dependencies in the entire system

• Work primarily on backend development while growing toward full-stack development

• Work on and expand your knowledge in the realm of backend and frontend development, databases, system design, alerting and monitoring tools

• Collaborate closely with Product Management on feature development and delivery

• Apply an AI-first mindset, including exploring and integrating AI or LLM-based capabilities into product features where relevant.

What makes you a strong fit:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of object-oriented programming principles

• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms

• Experience working with concurrent and multi-tier applications

• Appreciation for code reviews and experience with code testing practices

• Good understanding of RESTful services

• You are comfortable using modern development approaches, including AI-assisted coding tools and agents.

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot development

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, Canary, or similar

• Understanding of databases and data management tools such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar

• Ability to design and implement caching strategies that improve application performance and scalability

• Knowledge of asynchronous communication patterns and techniques using tools such as RabbitMQ or Kafka, taking into consideration their monitoring and observability

• Experience with technologies such as Kotlin, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, or others
