Location: London, UK
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in the office
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 12 months
Contract Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for a talented and creative UI Artist on a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an artist with a strong background in 2D art, user interface design, and the visual development of engaging in-game experiences.
In this role, you will contribute to the ongoing visual evolution, helping deliver high-quality UI assets and seasonal content that keep the game fresh, engaging, and visually appealing for its established player community.
A key part of the position will involve adapting and reskinning existing UI elements for live-ops events, incorporating seasonal themes, special occasions, and limited-time activities into the game's interface. You will work with established visual styles and design guidelines to ensure that new assets integrate seamlessly into the existing game while maintaining the distinctive look and feel.
The ideal candidate will combine strong artistic ability with a practical understanding of UI implementation, demonstrating the flexibility to work within an established art direction while delivering polished, production-ready assets.
Key Responsibilities
- 2D Art Creation: Create high-quality 2D artwork and UI assets that align with the established visual identity and artistic direction.
- UI Design and Integration: Prepare, adapt, and integrate UI assets into the game, ensuring they meet technical requirements and function correctly within the existing interface.
- Seasonal Content and Live Operations: Produce and reskin UI elements for seasonal events, themed updates, special occasions, and other live-ops activities.
- Asset Adaptation: Modify and refresh existing artwork to reflect different themes, colours, styles, and event requirements while maintaining visual consistency.
- Visual Consistency: Ensure all UI assets adhere to the game's established art style, quality standards, and design guidelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with UI designers, artists, game designers, and developers to deliver assets that meet both creative and technical requirements.
- Iterative Development: Respond to feedback, refine artwork, and make adjustments throughout the production process to achieve the desired visual quality.
- Production Efficiency: Manage multiple asset requirements and deadlines, prioritising work effectively to support the regular delivery of live game content.
- Quality Assurance: Review integrated assets to identify visual inconsistencies, implementation issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven professional experience as a UI Artist, 2D Artist, or in a closely related role within the games industry.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality 2D artwork and user interface assets.
- Hands-on experience creating, adapting, and integrating UI assets into an existing game.
- Experience reskinning or adapting artwork for seasonal events, themed updates, or live-ops content.
- A strong understanding of visual composition, colour theory, typography, hierarchy, and readability within game interfaces.
- The ability to work within an established art direction and maintain consistency across a broad range of assets.
- Familiarity with game production workflows and the technical considerations involved in preparing assets for implementation.
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering polished, high-quality artwork.
- The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative development environment.
- Clear communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach to creative problem-solving.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working on a live mobile game or free-to-play title.
- Familiarity with live-service development and the ongoing delivery of seasonal events and limited-time content.
- Experience working with established game IPs and adapting existing assets without compromising their visual identity.
- Familiarity with UI implementation workflows and game engines such as Unity.
- Experience using industry-standard 2D art and design tools, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- An appreciation for the visual style, player experience, and accessibility considerations of casual and family-friendly games.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role will mean consistently delivering visually appealing, technically suitable UI assets that enhance the player's experience and support the ongoing development.
You will help bring seasonal events and live-ops activities to life through thoughtful artwork, effective adaptation of existing assets, and close collaboration with the wider development team. Your work will contribute to keeping the game's interface cohesive, engaging, and aligned with its recognisable visual identity.
How to Apply
If you are a creative UI Artist with strong 2D art skills, experience integrating game UI, and a passion for delivering engaging seasonal content, we would love to hear from you.
Please share your CV and portfolio showcasing relevant UI artwork, 2D assets, and any examples of seasonal event or live-ops work.
