UI Product Designer (Native Mobile)

Overview

Our client, American Express, is seeking a talented UI Product Designer with a passion for crafting exceptional mobile experiences. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in highly visual, detail-oriented environments and enjoys transforming product concepts and user experience requirements into polished, production-ready mobile interfaces.

The ideal candidate combines outstanding visual design skills, strong interaction design capabilities, and hands-on experience designing native iOS and Android applications. You'll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and design leadership to elevate the overall quality and consistency of a world-class mobile app experience.

What You'll Do

• Design high-fidelity user interfaces for new and existing mobile app features
• Translate product requirements, user flows, and UX concepts into visually polished experiences
• Create interactive prototypes that effectively communicate interactions and product behavior
• Improve visual hierarchy, usability, and overall product quality across the mobile experience
• Work within and contribute to an established enterprise design system
• Partner closely with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the design process

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of product design experience in Agile environments
• Proven experience designing native mobile applications (iOS and Android)
• Strong portfolio showcasing mobile product design, visual design, and interaction design work
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, Auto Layout, variants, and design libraries
• Experience working within enterprise-scale design systems
• Ability to produce production-ready designs and collaborate effectively with engineering teams
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

What We're Looking For

This role is heavily focused on UI craftsmanship, visual polish, and interaction design. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong mobile design work and a passion for creating intuitive, visually compelling user experiences.

Candidates must include examples of native mobile app design work in their portfolio.

This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
