A Career that Empowers You to Build Your Future

As a Mortgage Legal and Compliance Support Specialist within Lennar Financial Services, you will play a foundational role in ensuring that the mortgage lending operations remain aligned with the complex and ever-evolving landscape of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. By applying sound professional judgment and attention to detail, you will contribute directly to Lennar's commitment to ethical business practices and operational excellence across the communities it serves.

Your Responsibilities on the Team

  • Review and process mortgage-related legal and compliance documentation, including regulatory correspondence, loan disclosures, and internal policy materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with established LFS procedures and applicable federal and state mortgage lending regulations.
  • Conduct foundational legal and regulatory research using available resources such as compliance databases, federal agency publications, and state regulatory guidance to support attorneys and compliance personnel in addressing questions related to mortgage origination, servicing, and disclosure requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation, proofreading, and organization of legal documents, compliance reports, and regulatory filings, applying consistent formatting standards and verifying that all submissions meet applicable jurisdictional deadlines and content requirements.
  • Maintain and update compliance tracking logs, regulatory calendars, and legal filing systems to ensure that all documentation is current, accessible, and organized in a manner that supports timely retrieval and audit readiness across the LFS legal and compliance functions.
  • Coordinate the routing and tracking of legal and compliance documents between internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and regulatory agencies, following established communication protocols and escalating time-sensitive matters to the appropriate legal or compliance personnel.
  • Support the monitoring of regulatory change by reviewing updates from agencies such as the CFPB, HUD, and applicable state mortgage regulators, summarizing key developments, and flagging items that may require review or action by legal or compliance leadership.
  • Apply professional judgment in reviewing incoming legal inquiries, compliance questionnaires, and due diligence requests to determine appropriate handling, gather relevant supporting materials, and prepare organized response packages for review by supervising legal or compliance staff.
  • Participate in the administration of compliance programs and internal audits by gathering documentation, compiling data from multiple sources, and preparing summary materials that support the assessment of LFS's adherence to mortgage regulatory requirements and internal policy standards.

Your Toolbox

  • Bachelor's degree required or currently in progress, preferably in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field that provides foundational knowledge of regulatory or legal environments.
  • 0 to 1 year of experience in a legal, compliance, paralegal, or mortgage-related support role; demonstrated academic coursework, internship experience, or exposure to mortgage lending regulations will be considered in lieu of direct professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of or demonstrated aptitude to learn federal and state mortgage regulations, including familiarity with key regulatory frameworks such as RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and ECOA as they apply to residential mortgage lending operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, organized summaries, correspondence, and compliance documentation with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism appropriate to a legal and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to maintain organized filing systems, prepare formatted documents, and manage tracking tools that support legal and compliance workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain careful attention to detail in a fast-paced professional environment where accuracy and timeliness directly impact regulatory compliance outcomes.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to locate, evaluate, and synthesize information from legal and regulatory sources and present findings in a structured format suitable for review by legal or compliance professionals.
